The mill have found a way to remove the plastic from the inside of paper cups. The cups are then used to make paper and is available in a range of shades called Extract from @gfsmithpapers More and more brands are signing up to the idea and send their used paper cups to the mill to be recycled. The pulp is pumped onto a 'wire' conveyor belt where the water is removed form the pulp with heat and rollers. Within just a few moments the pulp is 95% dry and would on a huge roll as paper stock.

Dyes are mixed to precise measurements and added to the porridge like pulp.

JAMES CROPPER MILL VISIT
We were thrilled to be invited on another tour of James Cropper - Redefining Paper paper mill in the Lake District yesterday. Such an amazing and interesting place full of history and heritage. Along with United Creatives Social and G.F Smith we were treated to a full tour and got to see the whole paper making process, from raw pulp board through to finished product.
Sheets of pulp board arrive at the mill in various forms. The sheets are mixed with warm water and beaten to a pulp before heading to large vats to be dyed.

Press visit today from United Creatives Social to check and sign off ink colour for a new letterpress printed bottle label. Starting with a Pantone ref we hand mixed and tweaked on press to achieve the exact colour required. Didn’t take long and it was good to have a cuppa, a Danish and a chin wag.
