Drove for many miles to get here only to find the castle closed with no staff on site, no information to say why either. No hangs written sign, nothing on the website either. It was well within opening hours on a day they are meant to be open.

The car park is by the adjacent Castle hotel who had to direct us how to get to the castle as there were not any signs directly you there. The only signs around were pertaining to the castle hotel.

Great family day! My daughter wanted to feel like a princess and after seeing inside and getting to dress up afterwards she loved it! Great day out for all ages.

First visit. Nice staff, good cafe. Loved the grounds but the house/castle has been stripped of all that is historical due to council cuts. The council should give it to the National Trust or Cadw who know how to run a historic property.

Amazing and beautiful place. Castle and gardens are very well kept. Our main reason for visiting was the new attraction of the WW1 trenches. Amazing to see trenches recreated on that scale and so in depth. Our tour guide was Lorraine and she made our experience and our day special and memorable. She had great knowledge of the trenches and how the Welsh army and men played their parts. It's was enjoyable to be shown around by someone with such a passion for history and era.

Castle itself looks lovely, but the rooms look more like they've been furnished from a charity shop.
A billiards room (just a table with a sign don't touch), a room furnished to look like WW1/WW2, a retro charity 70s room, 1 more impressive but tired stately room, then 1 bedroom and an attict from with a few desks.

Perfect for a lower school visit due to the interact classroom and a games room, but there are better castles to visit if you're a foreign tourist.

If you're visiting mid June the gardens are still a work in progress so not very impressive, and the maze hasn't filled out yet, however you can imagine it would look a lot more impressive at the right time of year.

Interesting but a little lacking in things to see inside. Large grounds for a walk
