Lovely weather here in Pengenffordd at Brecon Bunkhouse so why not join us? Pack a picnic, hit the mountains and catch the last rays of sun. The views are stunning at this time of the year. Check out our website for availability and bring your friends and family for a sweet time. We can take up to 28 guests and one or two dogs.
Welcome. x
Ancient Sites of Wales has posted some stunning drone shots from "our" local hillforts. -Have a look or better still, book yourself in at the Brecon Bunkhouse and visit them with a picnic.
Please don't litter or light a fire on the mountains.
After nearly a week of desperately trying to beat the fire down, a helicopter was taken in today to help on Mynydd Troed -the mountain opposite Brecon Bunkhouse. We are incredible grateful for Talgarth FIRE Station's hard work, keeping us safe. A huge thanks to Ann Seymour Photography for sad but beautiful photos.
Unique opportunity to see the lost homes at Elan Valley. Check out our web page for availability for parties up to 28 people.
We have plenty of Gem going here. It is Wales after all. x
What do you know about Wales?
Check out the webpage for availability and don't forget the suntan cream. Warm welcome!
Cool off in the Caves!
Today's view from Mynydd Troed was a bit shoddy, but the hike up and down was stunning.
Mynydd Troed means Foot Mountain in Welsh. Elevation: 609 m. Prominence: 286 m but next time, I think I will approach the mountain from Llangorse Lake side. -Less "straight up" then, but it is a sweet little walk from the Bunkhouse and back. Well recommended.
We are used to rain in Wales but when the MetOffice and the Police warns you of flash flooding, they are serious. Stay safe, peeps. x
