Happy New Year Folks! Our first event of the 20’s is a big one! It’s Brecon’s third annual Wassail and we’re so proud to be hosting the evening’s festivities with music from the amazing The Washboard Resonators and support from the extremely talented Bryony Sier Music. Hello everyone. We have to mark the end of the year at this point because everyone else does, so here goes. Here are just a few things we are grateful for from the last 12 months. Our little club is very fortunate to have a core of support both in terms of listeners and musicians. We are also really lucky to have The Muse as our regular venue and the help and love we get from Ruth and the gang. Community at its best.
Literally every band and performer we have had at the club... have been fantastic and also brought their own individual magic to the stage. I am deliberately not naming anyone but two things for us are really gratifying. Firstly introducing new acts to everyone and watching the crowd enjoy them as much as you hoped they would. The other is when the musicians who have played for us tell us, how much they loved playing at the club. You know who you are.
Of course it is also gratifying to be able to bring a folk god to round the year out! Freyja and Jodie just dont care who they ask!
We are of course hoping for your continued support in the coming year and we already have some ideas who we would like to get to entertain you all. We appreciate the trust you put in us when you come to see someone who is brand new to you.
So to everyone out there, firstly a massive thank you, and secondly all the absolute best of things to.you and yours in the coming year.

What a way to see the year out! Thanks to Freyja's hard work we had the wonderful Mr Martin Carthy gracing the Brecon Folk Club stage. Needless to say everyone had a great night and Martin was very generous with his time to everyone. To see such an icon away from his usual bigger gigs was amazing. A master musician and storyteller and an absolutely lovely man. Thanks to everyone who helped out on the night especially to our musicians and bar team. As always special thanks to Ruth. Lastly thanks to everyone who came out to support us. We will be bringing you more great musicians in 2020 so keep an eye out and come and support lovely live local music! - Mark 🎶
