My wife, my daughter, granddaughter & myself called in for lunch yesterday. Food was spot on and service was great. Been there quite a few times now and every time a great pleasure. The service we received from the young ladies working there was excellent. We'll be back again soon.

Had a mixed grill and it was cooked to absolute perfection will definitely go back again. Compliments to the chef!

First time visiting today with a large group of friends. Food was lovely, staff were lovely. Id especially like to thank the front of house lady and the lady in the soft play that acted so quickly and were so good with my little boy when he had a nasty accident. We are so grateful

Called in after walking dogs, lovely pub very friendly staff and I have to say the food was just superb, haven't enjoyed pub grub like that for ages, a huge well done.

Went new years day afternoon after long walk couldn't fault it had tempura prawns which we shared delicious crispy batter and chilli dip we both had new yorker burgers which were tasty and presentable cheese could have been melted would have a 5 star nice bottle of merlot and a couple of pints of doom bar cask ale which went down very well

We live locally so often call for a coffee whilst walking the dog. There's always bowls of water outside too. Staff are pleasant and courteous. The food has always been tasty and to be honest you get value for what you pay.

This place is great for both adults and children, as you can sit in the beer garden while the grandchildren play as it is all fenced in, so you don’t have to watch them all the time. (Perfect)

User

The food was excellent, atmosphere was good. The only thing we didn’t like was being told we only had two hours for our table booking.

User

Excellent meal at very reasonable prices. Good staff who are extremely helpful. Lovely surroundings - finish your meal with a nice walk around the lake.

Visited today and the food was lovely although service by the blonde lady serving at the main bar was shocking, she was hostile and short tempered. Throughout ordering she was like a bull dog sucking a wasp, I then ordered ice creams and she ordered me an extra by mistake which was fine however when this was brought to her attention when an extra ice cream came out she stormed over to my table saying that it was my fault. As the ice cream was only 79 p I really wasnt bothered about a refund or an argument and I know I ordered the correct amount however she behaved shockingly and she wanted me to admit I was in the wrong. This lady should not be working in this area if she hates it that much as she doesn't do herself or the restaurant any favours and because of this woman we will not be visiting this branch or brewers fayre again.

Not happy every table we want to sit on was rescued so we hate to sit by the front door freezing and my grandson only 10 and because he was a bit tall he couldn't take his baby sister to the play area so that spoilt his evening so I won't be vist your place again

User

Food was ok except the dry bullet like garden garden peas... table 23 with tongue and groove wall with food all in the woodwork. When was the last time they cleaned that. Prob would go back if the place was cleaner.

User

About average for pubs in the area. Paid for large fish but it was no bigger than average. Why put cold mushy peas in a separate dish? Wasted 99p. Nearly £9 for two colas and a beer! The other two diners seemed satisfied with their choice.

Went Saturday afternoon had to wait ages. Chips were cold. Wouldn't recommend the food. And can find nicer meals for there high prices.

We used to be regulars here. But had not been for a while. Went today for a meal for fathers day, and it will be the last. Flies everywere, how can you enjoy your meal when trying to wosh them off your plate. My daughter whos 3 wouldnt eat her food because of it. And as i was half way through mine.. 3 flies decided to take a bath in my mash and gravy. I was initially offerd a free dessert.. last thing i wanted to do was sit there sharing my desert with flies.. i did get a refund for my meal in the end, but they didnt want to. Fair play to the lady front of house, left on her own, said she is only training. Food isnt what it used to be either. Very disappointed, ruined our fathers day meal..

Enviromental need to take a close look at ways to control the flies.. we were not the only ones complaining about it.

Only Two Stars and for one reason...Nowhere for me to sit with my dog. I have COPD so sitting outside with the smokers isn’t an option! We walk at Sandy Water Park a few times a week and it would be SO nice to call in the Sandpiper for lunch. Surely a couple of tables tucked away in a corner could be allocated as a Dog Friendly area.

Visited The Sandpiper this evening as we do most Wednesday's usually we have a lovely meal but tonight the meal was terrible, my husband and I both had the fish and chips, tonight we could just about find a small bit of fish in the over cooked batter, when we told the waitress she offered us a free cup of coffee...don't think coffee can replace fish...do you!

Turned up this morning for my 3 year to play in the soft play to only to be informed it wasnt opened until 12. What's the point in have facilities available then not open them. My boy was very disappointed and so was I.

Limits us now, when we use to be regular customers

I was there yesterday the food was burnt as the oil needed changing , the customer service was extremely poor wasn't even asked if food was ok as she could see it was burnt and over heard us on about it so disappeared outside to hide. half the food was missing on the plate , won't be returning there again .
