Hmm... OK it's a charity shop and I guess slack should be cut as maybe the staff are volunteers - but there's simply no excuse for rudeness. Went in to buy a simple scarf. Was greeted by... sorry - was totally ignored by... a staff member in a very not busy store in the middle of the afternoon. One who, despite me happily saying hello, felt the need to adjust a shoe display, fiddle with bags behind the counter, look at the floor, arrange items on the counter etc.

It was surreal. I don't need help, don't need advice just want to pay for my chosen item. My patience ran out after being treated like the invisible man after a few minutes and I left with my money still in my pocket, scarf abandoned on the counter.

I don't expect to be treated like a prince, just acknowledged as a human being and simply be told that I'd be attended to shortly.

Fail.
