Ok, so we’ve been a bit quieter than usual on the ol’ social over the last couple of weeks, and here’s the reason why!
Our newest member of the team, Max arrived on May 31st and has started training straight away. (His tamp could use a little work but his milk work is promising)
Both mum and baby are doing great and are looking forward to meeting folks at the cabin over the coming months!

For those that were wandering, this is why we have now gone cashless, the fourth time in eight months we’ve woken up to this. They got nothing, but the damage to the building, the time lost to repairs and the emotional drain of wandering what we can do differently, what we’ve done to deserve this.. it’s difficult. But we pick ourselves up, dust ourselves off and get back to smashing out the tasty brews. We are opening again this lunchtime, yes we are cashless, contactless, card payments, Apple Pay, we’re good with 👍🏻

It’s been a weird week. It’s been an occasionally laugh out loud ridiculous week. It’s been a “one step forward, two steps back” week. Small but perfectly formed, this beautiful cabin has been our home for 2.5 years already! The coffee is fantastic (if we do say so ourselves) the ambience is stunning in the gardens but the thing that makes our little corner of Cardiff special? The daily interactions with people from the theatre, museum, city hall, university, law offices, call centres and further afield. If you ever need your life affirming, come and sit in our seating area for a couple hours and just have ...a listen... You’ll soon see, no matter their circumstances, people are nice, people are friendly, people have an awful lot in common, people are not the extreme, bigoted, angry people you see in the news and on social media a substantial proportion of the time....
