We've stayed at Brynteg twice now and I'm sure we'll stay again.

There are some very positive points about Brynteg. The kid's entertainment in the evenings is fantastic, the extra kid's activities are many and varied although prices may be excessive for some visitors.

The site is relatively quiet even in peak season which means the pool and bar are never over crowded like at other caravan sites. There is also a section of the bar for adults only in case the kid's entertainment isn't your thing.

The spa is a very nice addition, especially as it can be used at no extra cost.

On the negative side, some of the lifeguards play their role perfectly - making every effort to stop fun where they can. Whilst I'm sure they'll argue that they only have safety in mind, anyone who's been to a swimming pool knows that there's always that one lifeguard doing their best to suck the enjoyment out of the experience. Brynteg is no different.

The adults only part of the bar is a great idea but unfortunately it does not appear to be enforced and when my mother-in-law had the kids for us so we could go for a quiet drink, we found that there was nowhere to sit where kids weren't present. In addition, the tv was excessively loud but we were able to unplug it to solve that issue.

Coming back round to the price of things, the kid's arcade falls in to the usual trap of over charging resulting in less use. If my kid asks me for £1 for a game of pool then I'll say no because they'll be back in ten minutes asking for another. If they ask me for 20p for a game of pool then I'll give them a fiver because I know they'll be entertained for hours. This is a minor niggle of course but it'd be good if the machines were priced at pocket-money levels rather than pub levels.

While the caravans at Brynteg are quite nice, they are still caravans. Expect paper-thin walls, badly stocked kitchens and (as we found) an oven that is only good for defrosting food rather than cooking it. Also on our final morning, there was no hot water because the boiler pressure had fallen too low. This is no-one's fault but there was no obvious way to remedy the issue and no instructions to assist and with it being our final morning, there was no time to get help from the staff before we checked out.

All in all, a very nice experience with just a few minor points that could be ironed out in the future.

Arrived Saturday 5th August after a very long journey. No hot water in the caravan, no one in reception so had to get security who couldn't fix it. Finally fixed Sunday morning, can't believe something as basic as that wasn't checked before we arrived. Just returned from site restaurant. ..one and a half hours waiting for a very ordinary meal. Things can only get better. ..I hope! !

We've only used the pool there and have to say the changing rooms are great with a whizzer for spinning out the water from wet costumes. Pace is generally clean and well kept and well staffed. Lets itself down a little with parking at busy times and having no free WiFi at the cafe which is mean these days.

Are you looking for somewhere that is only interested in your money? Somewhere that believes the only way you can fund your purchase is through the job you do? Somewhere that wants to know all the nitty gritty details about you to find out if they are going to get commission or not? Then Brynteg is the site for you, their website states ‘Great customer service is at the heart of everything we do’, go and see the sales rep Kieron and his general manager Simon who will truly live up to the meaning of that. If you have picked up on my sarcasm in this paragraph then please save yourself money!

Another statement from their website is ‘we will do our upmost to resolve your complaint, we are fully committed to providing a great service and this absolutely includes when you’re making a complaint. We are committed to treating you fairly and transparently, and to dealing with your concerns as quickly as we can’, what this actually translates into is they will do their upmost to be totally biased and to not investigate a complaint properly.

I have made an in depth complaint to the general manager Simon, the head office responded to advise this would be fully investigated. Simon has responded and clearly this was written out with Kieron by his side drinking tea and eating chocolate digestives, he has failed to address any of the consistent valid points I have made in my complaint, when I responded to his response and told him about the flashing teeth leaking he has decided to ignore me. Anyone who has received any form of customer service training would know this is far from the spectacular customer service they claim to provide.

In fact one of the points I raised in my complaint was that one of Brynteg’s clientele visited their office on Sunday to query why she was being overcharged on her site fees, she was not offered any privacy and this was all discussed in full view of us, something which is again extremely poor considering the amount of money their ‘prestigious clientele’ pay. This was Simon’s response: ‘I’m pleased you witnessed one of our customers querying a site fee bill , our customer care team are always on hand to assist and clear up and misunderstandings , in this case it was a lady that had upgraded and had taken advantage of a site fee offer but misplayed her paperwork. Our customer care team are on hand 7 days a week and our community of customers have a very special relationship with the girls in reception.’ Clearly this was fully investigated by Simon whose spelling and grammar is obviously of 5 star standard. The lady in question handed her paperwork over to a gentleman in the office. We witnessed this whilst Kieron went on the phone halfway through his meeting with us, again extremely poor customer service.

Please save your money and go to a site that actually cares about you and will happily take your payment with due care and attention and does not judge you. Read all the reviews on Trip Advisor, they speak volumes, look at the pictures, especially of the entertainment’s room that never gets full. Most importantly choose a site that encourages family time and making memories not a site that sees children as an inconvenience and ships them off every weekend to an activity centre.

If you want to read the full review of this please go to Trip advisor and look for the title, Despicable customer service.

Went for a VIP tour made a fuss off but as soon as we questioned about size of kids room sales man changed attitude towards us and basically said this park ain't really for you. Kids where promised a go in kids park never happens also at start told layed on some food as well but if your not signing on that day they don't want to know disgusting way of treating potential new owners

I visit the spa here. It's probably the best in this part of N Wales

It is a nice site but not what it was since change in ownership. No onsite shop which is a pain and food options limited. Great location though
