Thank you to everyone that attended our first ever gin festival yesterday. Hope there aren’t too many sore heads today.
The weather was perfect and the whole team worked incredibly well on both bars and running around helping with the BBQ etc. Also a big thank you to Katie Rands for stepping in at short notice to perform to our guests too.

Lovely night for our first al fresco tapas evening! The courtyard looked stunning 😍

after calling last minute this morning (we were supposed to be in London but failed due to the weather) to see if there were any cancellations we were able to get in for dinner.. food and service was fabulous and considering the weather outside was horrific the atmosphere was amazing and the girls who managed to get to work to serve us couldn’t be more attentive! it’s on days like today I realise how lucky we are have places like butterflies on our doorstep because a snowy afternoon ‘stuck’ in the pub was perfect!�

We were a party of 10 on May 4th and everyone was happy with their main meals and desserts. I had a medium rib eye with a peppercorn sauce and chips, it was the best tasty steak I've eaten in at least 10 years. Great pint of Amstel lager too at a decent price. A few problems with a couple of fittings there I noticed that need to be sorted, but if you like a steak, this is the place to get quality. We all agreed we will return and the service was so professional and friendly. Thank you.

We just got home and had to write a review straight away. Food was absolutely brilliant as was the service. Best meal out we've had in a long time. Steak was perfectly cooked and popping candy melting chocolate cake was to die for. We'll be back soon. �

We have had good meals in the three times we have been to you and also my aunts wake yesterday which was enjoyable reminiscing about her 100 years of life. Thanks for putting the flower arrangement and balloon on display.

We have been to butterflies on several occasions,apart from one time when the service wasnt of the usual standard,we have found it to be fantastic.The food is superb,the waiting staff are great and Colin the bar manager is so friendly and makes you feel so welcome.We got to meet the owner/chef and he is is a lovely man.Would recommend butterflies to anyone.

My family visited last night, 5 adults and 2 children and we all loved our meals. The portions were big, the food was cooked perfectly and the staff were fab! Keep up the good work. Can’t wait to go again. Only thing I would love is a chicken tikka on the menu. Had it many years ago there and it was lovely.

Lovely friendly pub. This was my second visit and again very pleased with the food the welcome given by all the staff. Will be coming again soon.

I can't even begin to describe how amazing the food tonight was! Every time we go the food is always spot on but tonight was something else! We can't wait to come back again!! Thanks Dayne x

Heard lots of good things about Butterflies but not got around to visiting.

Tucked away in the sleepy heritage town of Blaenavon, you could miss it if you blink but trust me... you dont want to miss it!

The cosy pub setting where they have a nice bar area for you to sit and enjoy a beverage or two while you look at the menu and notice the beautiful cuts of meat on display in the chilled display cabinet.

The staff are very welcoming and once they take your order, they guide you through to your table. The pub has a lovely character, complete with log burner and wooden beams.

To be totally honest, i knew my selection before we even booked the table, i wanted 'the butchers block' mixed grill, every cut of meat you could want (pork chop, massive gammon, lamb chop, sausages, chicken breast and of course the sirloin steak) beautifully grilled and brought to your table on a wooden carving block, garnished with tomato and mushroom and accompanied by the best chunky chips and smooth peppercorn sauce. No other words for it, absolutely perfect!

I didnt have room for a starter or desert, even though the waiting staff tried to tempt me with the lovely selection of cakes and ice cream.

Honestly, come to this place and bring some slacks with a bit of spare room.

On the next visit im definitely choosing the smokehouse BBQ platter and a belt with a few more notches.

Had a lovely meal here today for father's day the food and service was outstanding considering it was busy it was well organised the food was delicious everything was perfect and we didnt wait long for our meals. The atomsphere and the staff were very welcoming. Thank you for a lovely afternoon will definitely be returning.

Came to Butterflies yesterday for Father's Day after luckily managing to get a table that had just been cancelled, we could not have asked for more. The starter, main and desert were absolutely beautiful, the flavoured gins were lovely and presented so nicely � all staff were very friendly we can't wait to return for a steak ! Thank you ! X

Booked a table for my parents golden wedding anniversary. Food was absolutely amazing, staff efficient with service and nothing too much trouble. Thank you for making their night feel special

Pre ordered in advance as it was a party of 24.. was told before the starters came that there would be a delay as every body had turned up at once????? It was a party !!! Table was booked for half seven and we finally got our meal just before nine... must say my food was very nice but two meals got returned.. I would go again but wouldn’t go as a large group.

Not what it used to be !!!

Came tonight for a family birthday meal, i ordered seabass to then be told u didnt have any. We sat in the conservatory room which was cold, our chairs was to low for the table so it was very uncomfortable to sit at and difficult to eat our food. Sirloin steak wasnt the best no taste at all, blue cheese sauce was like water on my plate, Beef Shin was full of fat hardly no meat at all.

We was then given the wrong bill at the till and had to wait for it to be sorted.

Had a lovely meal at the butterflies this evening with two friends. Food was absolutely amazing, and waiting time was not bad at all considering how busy the restaurant was. Waitresses friendly and attentive and made the over all experience a good one. How ever the service we received while trying to pay our bill at the bar was appalling. After requesting to pay the bill separately (we had worked out how much we each needed to pay) we were met with an eye roll and looks that could kill, he also proceeded to tell us how annoying it is for him when people pay separately and we're made to feel like we were in the wrong for simply paying our bill. This aside the rest of our time was great. �

Food was at a reasonable standard, the service by the waitresses was excellent (couldn't fault them enough)

But we didn't receive all the garnish that was stated on the menu with our Chateaubriand, when we questioned this they had substituted pea shoots for asparagus! We ordered extra sauces with our steaks which we received instead of the jus that was again stated on the menu. When we questioned this at the bill (Hayley) was very rude and more or less snatched the bill out of our hand. I was looking forward to our night at Butterflies but was let down massively.

Meal was booked over a week in advance, during that phone call they were made aware of one of the people being a gluten free vegetarian ( luckily technically a

Pescetarian that is allergic to gluten and wheat). They responded with they will make sure they could help, they was not prepared like they said they would be. If I would of known they could not cater for me I would of gladly went else where. I did not enjoy my only choice on the menu which was a dry salmon
