Went to see Beaumaris Castle on Sunday, curtesy of the free tickets, we live on Anglesey and have never been inside this Castle as it doesn't look much from the outside, fabulous, loved the animated video, the whole family loved it and we are going again, it's now one of our favourite Castles, thank you for a wonderful day out Cadw

User

We have visited Caerphilly, Chepstow, Raglan and Castell Coch and have thoroughly enjoyed all of them. Staff were polite and helpful.

User

Visited many of the Cadw castles and loved everyone, found the staff all to be friendly and helpful and the sites have always been tidy and we'll maintained. My favorite by a long shot was Beaumaris Castle which is just stunning.

User

Visited Conwy castle and Plas Mawr today and can not get over how much I loved the visitor experience at Plas Mawr (the castle was impressive enough, as are all Edward I's castles) yet all I knew of Plas Mawr was that it was a Elizabethan era townhouse and I was so pleasantly surprised on learning about the audio tour experience which was so immersive and brought the entire place to life, that along with the restoration work carried out by Cadw and the authentic 16th Century decor shows that a lot of love has gone into this project. It was a fortunate find for me and feel it should be promoted to castle visitors more, especially considering the special day ticket deal available to visit both properties.

Genuinely loved it and would highly recommend it to anyone with even the most passing of interests in historic houses!

User

Thank you CADW for the warm and friendly way you greet and welcome visitors at your sites, well at least the ones we have visited and thank you for preserving the historic buildings and structures of Wales.

Love Caerphilly castle. Must get my resident pass being we live in caerphilly. My daughter loves the castle and can't wait to see the baby dragons

User

Great places to visit and with a annual pass it's also great value for money

User

Cadw is a very good government organisation that take us back to our Welsh history :-D amazing castles across the country that kept my kids amused with its brilliant architecture.

User

Been to see the dragon at Rhuddlan Castle looks fantastic(gutted it's not going to Denbigh Castle) me and my little one loved it great day out for us both thanks Cadw.

User

Attended the spooky spectacular at Caernarfon castle this evening it was absolutely amazing the staff were terrifyingly brilliant the atmosphere was amazing hope this will become an annual event

User

A great and useful organisation bringing knowledge and pleasure to its many visitors

User

Thank you for the free entry last Sunday. I had a lovely time - visited the dragon at Caerphilly and then on to Castell Coch.

User

Drove 30 miles to see the Dragon with a car full of kids only to find it had been moved today rather than on Sunday as previously advertised. Not a happy bunch of people.

User

Castell Coch is a fabulous castle. Just a shame you have ZERO high chairs in the tea room! Very poor!!

User

We visited today. The castle is impressive but visitor experience poor. No visible signage as far as we could see in official car park of where the entrance to the castle was. We walked for 10 minutes from the car park with a four year old before entering the castle where I was refused a concession rate for my son because he didn't have his student card with him. He is 17 and doing A levels and they wouldn't take his mother's word for it. After paying for parking in their carpark we were charged £6.90 each to enter the castle. I asked if I could have a feedback sheet to comment as I wasn't happy about the visitor service and they said they didn't have any. They told me to go online so I asked where on the website the feedback form was. They said they didn't know. So I asked them to find out and leave instructions for me on the way out. They said they didn't have time and the internet was slow. A kind gentleman who had been hearing our conversation and next to me at the desk had kindly got the Beaumaris website up on his phone for me and said just send feedback on facebook or twitter - so that's what I've done. Part of the site was being conserved so we couldn't access parts which made their attitude towards us at the pay point even more disappointing. There was also very limited interpretation of the site which has world heritage status. Despite having a shop there were no toilets so we had to leave the site to go to the public toilets with a maximum of 2 toilets for men and women and then return to the castle. 20p was charged and as you can imagine loads of people were queuing and asking each other if they had 20p! Wouldn't recommend recommend to families and won't be going again. Not family friendly. How a venue can charge £20 for a family ticket and not provide toilets is beyond me.

User

We go to Caerphilly castle a lot and today we went and there was a bird display in the castle. We didn't go to that but sat in the grounds for a picnic. One of the voltchers came down and took the sandwich out of my three years hands and once ate that came after us and persisted to jump up at my legs and carried on for ages. My daughters were so upset and scared. When I pointed this out to one of the staff I just got dismissed. I understand bird geese etc are a bit hissy but to be chased by a voltcher this is not normal and the attitude of the staff was appalling. This could have been a lot worse someone's finger or face!!

User

Truly disappointed today!!!

Went up to Caerphilly castle to see the dragons to be told we had to pay over £20 to get in!!! Then the women told me I could get free resident pass from the visitors centre. So I walked over there only to be told they had none left! I had 2 very upset toddlers!

User

This was Harlech Castle today and you can see how busy it was - cant post photo but it was almost empty. We took the g kiddies pokemon hunting around Harlech and then to the lovely Freyas cafe at the castle for a drink. The g kiddies, aged 5, 8 and 9 were on the bridge collecting Pokemmon and the one Cadwr lady came out not once, but twice- the first time to tell us they werent allowed in the castle - we had already told them not to go off the bridge. The second time to ask us to get the children off the bridge. More than jobs worth comes to mind. As you can see the castle was SO busy that they were causing an obstruction and causing a nuisance. Disgusted resident of Harlech

User

Disgusted that a dog (on lead, well behaved and with poop bags at the ready) is not allowed into the castle!! Spoiled my daughters trip to north Wales for no reason we can find accceptable!! Extremely disappointed!!
