Beautiful Duch ❤️. She’s had her 3 litters in the same years that I’ve had my babies! I feel a special connection.
She’s been scanned again today and has perplexed the scanner! She’s believed to be closer to her due date than we thought so the pups are too big to see and count! However the scanner believes she has much more than 6 in there! So I have taken 7 deposits from folk on the waiting list and I’m comfortable with taking another 1 and 2 people in reserve. Message me w...ith interest please!
I am being conservative! Her litters are always big so watch this space!
PUPPIES SOON!!!!!

From top left to bottom right: the dogs and the goats are hanging around by the gate while I do my farm jobs hoping for a bit of love from me haha! When I approach, the young Paracelso bounds forwards and Saffy-mummy-goat reminds him of his manners next to her baby. Bouncy Paracelso graciously moves to the back of the queue, and sits patiently with the other dogs (who didn’t need to be told!)
He’s young and a bit bouncy but he has everything a maremma should! The way these d...ogs blend in with their herd / flock is so impressive. Duch has perfected her body language so that it never intimidates her charges and Paracelso is getting there very quickly!
Update: Second photo just taken from my bedroom window of him chilling and blending with them VERY nicely, and most importantly, he’s choosing them over the company of the other dogs! This is his first week with the goats and he hasn’t put a foot wrong.

So this is Woody! He’s from Duch’s first litter and works on a small holding in west Wales where he protects his poultry and sheep and is a much loved family friend. I’m so pleased to have received this this morning! I haven’t seen him in a while and I LOVE seeing how the pups are progressing!
I bought Duch on a whim to see if the incredible rumours were true. Could dogs really protect stock, live with them and NEVER cause them distress??? If not she would have been my pet (...and secretly I wanted her at home with me 😂). But the rumours ARE true. These dogs ARE incredible! And Duch was happiest with her animals. We started breeding them because we believe in these dogs so much! They are very much needed by British farmers and smallholders (and families!) But the country doesn’t know of them!!!
Seeing photos of these dogs working; being satisfied at their jobs and satisfying their owners makes me SO HAPPY!!!!
I’m so pleased Duch will have more babies who will go on to great things!
BEAUTIFUL WOODY 😍😍😍😍

WE HAVE AWESOME NEWS! DUCH IS HAVING PUPPIES! 🐶 Due on August 2nd so they will be ready for their new homes at the end of September! At least six puppies are confirmed so we will be taking reservations from now. This is Duch’s third and final litter and Paracelso’s first litter!
I’ll be messaging those of you who have expressed an interest....

Paracelso’s kennel club papers came!!!! I feel very honoured to have imported a dog from the realm! He’s very chilled at the moment, guarding the chickens and geese, maturing well.

User

Paracelso asleep on the job of guarding his poultry....but from a good vantage point so he can keep his ears open and jump straight to work! He’s such a good boy!

After a long, hard day of guarding the chickens and ducks, Devon and Paracelso are excited to help me lock up the birds and take them for their supper and change of shift to yard duty. Good dogs!
They’ve done incredibly well under the older dog, Duch’s supervision and now both dogs have proved they can be trusted alone with the poultry despite their young age (dogs are normally 2 years old before they’re left with stock).
We’re still keeping a close eye to check on them, but Duch is now freed up for other jobs, like sheep and goat duty.

Paracelso’s bed 😂

User

It’s 1.27am and Paracelso has been barking for about half an hour. My husband decided to get up out of bed to go and tell him off or lock him up for the night but wisely decided to check out if the dog knew best. He got out the brightest torch we have and shone it into the field in the direction Paracelso was barking. Sure enough there were not just one but two foxes! Hubby scared the foxes off and gave ‘Celso lots of praise and hugs! Good boy! .......goodnight!

Paracelso is spending more and more time out with his flock! He’s bonding with the poultry, goats and of course baby humans! He only shows interest in playing with the other dogs and not in his charges. If he wants to move them on, he does so very slowly with calm, guiding body language. He never breaks out of a walk unless running to greet us, defend from a perceived threat or of course playing with other dogs. This is VERY impressive for such a young dog. He’s going to be a perfect LGD....of course he is, it’s in his blood! Very proud to have ‘a dog of the realm’ working for us!

😍 the magnificent and self-assured Paracelso dei cani di varrone 😍

With just 9 months in age between them the Welsh 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁷󠁬󠁳󠁿 maremma and the Italian 🇮🇹 maremma showed us earlier that they speak the same language!
