We were looking for a family friendly place to go for our anniversary meal, and we'd seen an article on the Wales Online about the top 10 eateries in Cardiff. Calabrisella was one of them. We are so glad we chose it! Every member of staff acknowledged us as we were taken through to our table and a highchair was provided for our 8 month old son. The food was amazing! We had the rice balls to start - hot, fresh and so tasty! And the pizzas we had for mains were thin, crisp and the toppings were delicious. The green salad side order was so simple - shredded iceberg lettuce with seasoning and olive oil, but Wow! It was amazing! We bought cake to bring home as we were so full from the food. They were big, generous portions. If you want a family friendly venue with friendly, attentive staff and amazing food, try Calabrisella!

Visited for a birthday lunch on 11th Feb, after wanting to try for ages. Lovely, friendly welcome, efficient service and the food was divine. My partner had pizza, which was cooked to perfection, with plenty of topping and not overloaded with cheese. My pasta was so tasty, again a good sized portion and piping hot. We waited just long enough for our food to know it was all freshly cooked. The restaurant was very busy, with only one empty table during the time we were there but the staff had everything under control. I'd been looking forward to this visit for a long time and I certainly wasn't disappointed - I can see why this place has won awards. Decor is also lovely and the restautant is spotlessly clean. Very good value too - meals, side orders and two beers came to about £25! Looking forward to our next visit! ����

Took friends for a meal on Dec 1st. The seafood platter to share was wonderful. Two had the amazing charcoal pizza, that was a first, and my pasta was delicious. Love having this delightful place where I live.

Thank you to all the staff at Calabrisella for making us most welcome again on Sunday 6th May after the Cardiff City promotion match. We all had a fantastic time, lovely food and great company. Originally went to Calabrisella as my Daughter wanted Pizza's for the evening Party at her wedding, they advertise a wood fired Pizza oven within their Van, so we went to sample some food in the Restaurant and speak with the owners, Salvo, Angelo and Domenico.

By the time we left the restaurant, and sampled some food, we had decided that they were going to do my Daughters Wedding day Buffet as well.

All three Partners are super friendly but professional and kept us informed throughout the build up to the Wedding. The Wedding was an hour outside of Cardiff but this was no problem for them.

On the day of the Wedding, Angelo, Domenico and another member of Staff arrived very early to prep the food and set up what i can only describe as an Italian Buffet Showcase, it was spectacular. The wedding was in a Barn and they used all manner of props within the Barn to create a stunning looking Buffet. (Photo's to follow)

The Buffet consisted of cold antipasti, Salami's, cheese's, numerous different finger foods and Italian sandwiches and also hot Pasta dishes, Lasagne, Gnocchi etc all bursting with flavour. The Team worked extremely hard all day refilling the Buffet when needed, serving far more food than the 100+ guests could eat.

In the evening the Pizza Van was fired up and the Team served quality Pizza's to our Guests. Not sure exactly what time they finished but it was late in the evening and left the Barns's Kitchen spotless. The Owners of Sugar Loaf Barn (Separate Review) said they were by far the best Caterers they had seen there.

I highly recommend Calabrisella and would definitely use them again.

Ordered a setteveli cake from Salvatore for my father’s birthday and what a cake! Absolutely delicious, a real taste of Italy. Grazie mille!

One of my favourites in Cardiff. Very good food at great price. You can’t beat the breakfast. Staff are great and the place is spotless.

My daughters favourite place to go and eat. Had a lovely Sunday lunch here yesterday. Reasonably priced and as always food was amazing and the staff can't do enough for you. Can't wait until we visit again.

My children arranged a 50th birthday party for me in Calabrisella. My friends & family all experienced a great atmosphere & I thoroughly enjoyed my special day. I rate this a 5 star experience because:



1. The staff there were marvellously friendly, polite and attentive. They set up a room for my guests upstairs with music & disco lights. We had the control of the sound, and the lights could have gone off if we wished, which we did not!



2. Food was amazing, LOADS, and of high quality. Variety of drinks were available & provided. The starters & main meals were brought in as different pasta & pizza dishes which we all shared.



3. My children apparently ordered a birthday cake from elsewhere and Calabrisella management had no problem for it to be consumed after the main meals with our teas and coffees.

I love the food here easily best authentic Italian pizza in the city and the atmosphere is fab- but they need more space!! A bigger restaurant with nice seats and tables and this place would be incredible!

I adore this place, the food and the unpretentious atmosphere. Engaging and warm staff. It has it all. Keep it up guys I am telling everyone about you you deserve to succeed. X x x

Delicious Italian food lovely atmosphere & great service it was our first visit this evening but won’t be our last � 5*

Came here after Chapter Arts Centre film. Loved the quirky cosy atmosphere. Food portion was too big for me :-( but delicious food n wine

Ate here for the first time last night having seen lots of food reviews about it! And we weren't disppointed. Tried 3 different arancini which were delicious and the pizzas out of this world, enormous and enough to take home in a doggie bag and enjoy the next day....amazing! Staff were so friendly from the person who answered the phone with a big friendly buon giorno(?) when I made the booking to the waitresses who were all so helpful, attentive and welcoming! We will definitely be returning and can't wait�
