Malnutrition occurs when a person doesn't get enough nutrients or doesn't get the right balance of nutrients needed for good health. Although weight loss can be a sign that someone is malnourished, it is not the case that only thin or underweight people are malnourished. It is possible to have a diet that is high in calories but low in some or most of the vitamins and minerals that the body needs, this means that someone who is overweight could also be suffering from malnutrition.

Some great feedback this week for Lisa Swann whose QCF assessor told us that she is the highest performing candidate currently going through their qualification. Lucinda said she "couldn’t fault her for any part of the care I observed and needed no prompts throughout." Lucinda also stated that "it was one of the best supervised visits she has seen."
