Cancer Research Wales Description
Cancer Research Wales funds pioneering research here in Wales. It’s world-class and it’s local. So every donation we receive goes directly to our teams of leading scientists based here in Wales. "This year I will be taking on the Chester Marathon, Half & 10K, Everest Base Camp Trek, and two more 10ks runs. I will be completing these for Cancer Research Wales as I just had cancer. I am all clear now but it so hard to get your head around when you hear the words you have got cancer. But thanks to my family and friends they have all played a massive part in my journey and helped me overcome this and this is why I am doing these events to put money back into research and help others in need like they helped me. Let's make a difference" - Anthony Bagnall:

Each year, we hope to support promising new research projects around Wales. 2019/20 is no exception, as we have so far pledged an additional £1.65m of new funding for ground-breaking research. These projects will take place across the length and Wales and seek to improve the prevention, early diagnosis and treatment of cancer.
On March 14th, Luke Mitchell and Aaron Pritchard of L&A The Fitness People will be challenging themselves to row continuously for 24-hours with the aim of completing over 200,000 meters in aid of Cancer Research Wales.
Luke explains why they decided to take on this incredible challenge:
‚ÄúI think everyone has had their fair share of heartache due to this disease, everyone knows somebody who‚Äôs life or loved one‚Äôs lives that have been affected by cancer, I know I have.... ‚ÄúI have seen many people I love struggle with this awful disease‚ÄĚ
“That's why we’re willing to put our bodies on the line to raise as much money to fight this disease that affects so many people"
