A volunteer-run community centre, run on behalf of Beaumaris and district community.

History: The Centre was formerly the hall of the parish church of St. Mary and St. Nicholas. It was completely rebuilt and refurbished under a leasing arrangement to the newly formed trustee body formed in 2003 and renamed the Iorwerth Rowlands Centre. It was named after the late Iorwerth Rowlands, a county councillor who dedicated much effort to this project. It is a registered charity (1071952) serving the whole community.


The Main Hall
is available for bookings and is suitable for parties, wedding receptions, conferences, shows, etc. A fully functioning kitchen
with hatch to main hall makes meals and refreshment an attractive addition. Seats up to 100.
Small committee room
Also available for hire, ideal for small meetings and classes etc. Seats up to a dozen.

Computer suite
This is being updated with10 computers and several laptops. It will be available for classes from September onwards.
Individual use of computers is also welcome, please enquire about charges. Bookings for regular events attract a discount.

WHAT’S ON
Youth and children’s weekly meetings:
Beavers, Cubs, Scouts and Youth groups meet here in term time.
Beavers meet Monday evenings 5. 45 – 6. 45pm
Cubs and Scouts meet Tuesday evening from 6 – 9pm
The Youth Club meets on a Thursday evening 7 – 9pm

Our courses include Welsh Classes at a range of levels and these are held on Wednesday and Thursday mornings. The classes begin in September 2015 and information will be available near the time.

Yoga classes are held by Kathryn Turner on Wednesday evening. This is a mixed ability class from 8. 00pm-9. 30pm (school term times) with occasional drop-in sessions during the summer and occasional Yoga weekends at the Centre.

A Local History course begins in September.

The Pioneers Walking Group meets at the Centre for a weekly walk each Wednesday afternoon at 2. 00pm. This is an easy walk for people who either cannot walk too far or are building up their fitness after an illness etc. A friendly, welcoming group with qualified walk leaders. Refreshments are served at the Centre on return from walking.

A Community Coffee Morning is held every Friday morning from 10. 30 onwards.
Everyone is very welcome. Games and toys available for children.


Beaumaris 50’s Club
Based in the Iorwerth Rowlands Centre and established for 10 years, our very popular Over 50’s Club enjoys numerous activities and outings in a warm and happy atmosphere. Subscription is £7 per annum.
Club meetings are held on the last Monday of each month.
In addition to our monthly meetings, throughout the week we have Tai Chi classes, Art and Social Classes and Needlework group. We also have coach trips, cinema trips, outings to garden centres etc.
Christmas here is wonderful!

Citizens Advice Bureau has an access point computer in the entrance hall to the building which is available between the hours of 9. 00am until 5. 00pm Monday to Friday.
