Cantref - Brecon'S Biggest Adventure

This is my favourite campsite. I come here every year due to its great location for pen y fan. As Brecon beacons is a dark sky reserve, it is great for stargazing. Great views from the tent. The amenities are enough to make you feel comfortable. The staff are really friendly and helpful.

Marketting team should get a raise! Not as Glossy and interesting as the Leaflet and Website would have you believe, but lots of okay attractions, Large indoor soft play area, not many animals unfortunately and not ones you get the chance to feed. Not convinced it is worth the entrance fee for adults but kids would have a good honest day out.

We camped with a tent and had beautiful scenery. The rest was rather bad. The promised Wifi was not working, staff just said: it is out of our hands. The 'new' toilet building was not properly cleaned. Water pressure so high that washing hands always ended up in wet clothes and painfull stinging shower rays. On top of that lukewarm water for washing up at a windy cornor of the building. Very overpriced aswell. Reduction was not possible, because 'we had the choice to leave'.
The horseriding was a bit disappointing. Our very experienced children (9 and 12 with 150+ lessons each) went on a one hour trip. They were not allowed to go on a 2,5 hr. trip because 9 was too young. (At Ellesmere Riding at Llangorse close by it was no problem.) OK, after the one hour trip they were allowed to do some galloping.

Great for beginners to try riding and also see the Brecons. We did the Brecon Beacon Explorer Ride (Mum, Dad, 11 and 14 year old girls) with no riding experience. Katie our guide provided the necessary training in about 15 minutes and were then out mainly off-road. We all really enjoyed it and a great way to get the kids off the phones! Well organised and Katie our guide was great.

Good and honest simple family fun. Our kids (2 and 5 yrs) loved it here and this place is perfect for this age group. We stayed in the bunkhouse for 2 nights and there was plenty to entertain them for nearly 3 days. The staff were super friendly and great with the kids, we felt very welcome and got to relax while they played safely. The kids were in heaven as one child is obsessed with tractors and the other loves animals and horse-riding. We had mixed weather but when it was wet we played in the play barn and when it was dry we enjoyed all the outdoor activities like the swamp ride, super sledge ride, trampolines, sand and water play… The highlight was the horse-riding - the 20minute introduction to riding was fantastic. Meg, the instructor, was wonderful at building confidence and very encouraging. The Red Kite ride gives you wonderful views of the Brecon Beacons surrounded by bird song. At the Adventure Farm there was entertainment for the kids all day with shows and other activities. We also saw the 4-day old foal on the tractor ride, which was a real treat. The food is fantastic too.

Visited this weekend while visiting Walles for the first time (we are from Slovenia). Kids had amazing time; 8y old daughter loved feeding and petting animals, and 3y old son really enjoyed riding a horse. They went to swamp ride, pig race, tractor tour, slides, little peddal boats, indoor playground and snake show.

Absolutely rubbish in my opinion there idea of a petting show was 1 ferrite and 2 genie pigs lasted about 5 minutes. The slides were shut only thing for kids under 3 was a sand pit and trampoline. Food was good but over priced

Great day out. Unfortunately a bit wet when we went so couldn't make the most of it. Still some good things inside to keep the kids busy.

A great day out, animal petting experience was great for the children. Free slide, tractor ride and mini boats. Food was good value.
