Honest friendly advice to give you what you want i never go anywhere else

Never received the service history that was advertised on a £7,200 van , would not recommend this place to anyone

I called up Capels regarding a van they had for sale on their website. I was told that the one in the photo had been sold but they were getting another exact same vehicle in within a matter of days with lower mileage and they would do the best they could with the price. I later visited their showroom and placed a cash deposit of £200 without seeing the van as it was arriving in 'two days'. Later that week with no phone call, I rang up Capels to find out if the van was ready - I was told it hadn't yet arrived, but they'd be getting it on Tuesday next week. This wasn't an issue at the time. The following Tuesday came and went, no call and I didn't call Capels to find out what was going on, I thought I'd give them some space to get on with things. Friday came and I was in the area so popped in to find out what was going on. They told me the van was in and it was just waiting for a few new parts, I asked to see the van and I was reluctantly lead to see it - WOW! What a state! The van was in horrendous condition both inside and out and had clearly been involved in an accident. As I could see the van was not what I'd promised, nor was it anywhere near being ready I asked for my money back. I was told that I'd need to speak to the boss because there wasn't any cash at the garage. I called up week after week for my money, constantly being fobbed off with excuses. I did finally get my money back via a bank transfer. I strongly suggest others stay well clear of this place and the people who work here.

A very poor experience from Capels. After initial good sales experience we then found that aftersales was shocking - really bad at returning calls, and 8 weeks down the line still no sign of the second key that we were promised. Fobbed off each phonecall with a different excuse and then finally told no other key was available and they would not supply us with one at their cost. This was a condition of sale which they failed to honour. Rude and aggressive at times, appear to be untrustworthy. Alarm bells were ringing after we bought the van when it turned out the door had been resprayed and the mechanism reassembled incorrectly. Capels covered the cost of correcting the mistake (VW carried out the work, I billed them). In addition, the seats in the front of the van (pictured in the ad) were swapped out for cheaper seats when we picked it up but we didn't notice this until VW pointed it out and the air vent tabs (again pictured in the advert) had also been removed. Absolutely would not recommend - go straight to main dealer and pay the extra few hundred quid and save yourself hassle. Disappointing and sadly I echo exactly the same issues (key, phone calls) as other reviews. Thankfully the van is still under VW warranty so I can now deal directly with them.

Brought a van in April 16, Custer service was brilliant all time before the money was exchanged. Once the van was brought, the cumstor service disappeared and all we received was rude and aggressive responses, when they did respond. Have had a few major issues with the van, took it back to their garage and the problem was not fixed, it was made worse! No confidence in their abilities and they take no responsibility for their mistakes and are the biggest conmen I have meet so far - would never use again, all they have done is cost us extra money and lots of broken promises!!!!!!

I have been buying vans from Capels Van centre for 10 years now and have always found them very professional and easy to deal with. The vans I've bought have all been sound mechanically and more importantly at the right price. 👍
