Cardiff Flute Lessons

I have been teaching the flute in Cardiff for the past 6 years. My musical training included a one-year scholarship to the Royal College of Music in London. I have studied with Douglas Townsend (BBCNOW), John Francis (teacher of James Galway) and Christopher Hyde-Smith (RCM). I won the first ever Welsh Young Musician of the Year competition back in 1982, and more recently won the British Flute Society's Adult Amateur competition in 2009. I am a lively and enthusiastic teacher and my aim is to make lessons fun and to encourage a love of playing. I have a holistic approach to teaching and incorporate elements of theory, aural and preparation for perfomance into lessons. References available on request.
