We had very good time at leisure center, the slides, water sparkling and bubbling, the river, all have a delight for my family

User

We always have a great time when we visit. The pool seems a lot warmer than other local pools which is great at this time of year and as always the slides provide hours of fun for the children. We visited again yesterday with no issues. The great value is an added bonus! Cost under £12 for myself and my twin girls

User

My 3 children aged 15, 13 and 10 have been coming here regularly since my youngest was a baby. We've always had a great time with no problems. My only criticism (just a little one) is that at certain times the lazy river, slides & water features are all turned off, but we're still charged the same as when the whole pool is accessible.

User

Kids loved it this half term even if the water was slightly colder than normal. Also a huge thank you to whoever found and handed in my sons ipod which he dropped out of his bag whilst changing!! He only had it on him as his bus pass is on it!! Thanks to the front desk staff who kept it safe for him!!

User

I use both the gym and pool. Having been ill last year I had to cancel my membership but am now fully recovered and getting back to full fitness. The staff have always been very friendly and polite to me. I love having a work out in the gym then using the sauna, steam room and jacuzzi and then into the pool to finish off with a 500 - 1000 mtr swim. My only criticism is the lockers in the gents changing rooms with a few broken and damaged. I have the corporate membership package which I consider great value as I use the gym and pool at least 4 times a week. The early opening times for the gym are great for me as I work shifts and can go straight to the gym after a night shift. Never had a problem in the 3 years I've been a member.

User

Came here today for the first time and loved it! The slides in the leisure pool were so much fun. After my swim I had some lush food in the café, and then spoke to the front of house staff (who were very friendly) about seeing the gym. They got a helpful membership adviser to show me round and told me everything I needed to know! I'm really pleased with the service that the staff provided especially seeing as it the school holidays. 10/10

User

Came here for the first time ever today with my girlfriend and her younger sister. Absolutely fantastic pool and slides, and we really enjoyed it!Minor niggle would be that the chlorine concentration seemed a little high, but that didn’t bother us too much. Definitely recommend the space bowl!

User

Really great slides, lazy river and pools, loads of variety and changing/showering space. The cafe is reasonably priced and serves generous portions. All in all great value, a birthday party favourite!

User

Came here yesterday pm with the family and we all had a great time. Even though it was half term it didn’t feel too busy although there were queues for the slides. The slides were well supervised and safe. The water was clean and the temperature was OK. There was plenty to do to keep as entertained for 2 hours and we only left then as the kids were hungry. Lost 20p in a hair dryer that didn’t work and didn’t have a spare. A male attendant kindly replaced it for us and found us one that worked. He was very helpful. I only knocked 1 star off as the air temperature in the changing rooms was uncomfortably cold compared to the temperature in the pool area when you first get out of the pool. I haven’t noticed such a difference at other leisure centres. We will definitely be back.

User

The kids had a great time and really enjoyed their outing. I on the other hand was concerned that the water was green and the water temperature was below what I've been used to when I've visited before. When I got home and looked up green water on Google it says that it's due to algae. So that explains the cold water, as I guess algae would increase in warm water.

My skin was also starting to itch after an hour, so I was glad to get out. But then had to deal with the artic blast when I headed for my locker. I took my towel down to the shower area, but found no where to hang it, so had to take it back and brave the cold.

Toilets were blocked with tissue. I flushed a few, and it went down, so can't understand what the problem was. Service checks would sort that out.

Lastly. I felt a chap speeding down a busy corridor on a cleaning thingy, narrowly missing stray feet, was an accident waiting to happen.

Otherwise we had a good time, but can t say we'll be in a rush to visit again.

User

The facilities are great but the staff on reception every time are hard work and need some serious training in systems and customer service! It’s like the computer says no for the most basic thing like a refund the manager was even worse!!!

User

I like it there but the water is not warm enough, they need to heat it more. My little nephew was blue around the lips as he was cold in there. Please, make the water warmer.

User

Took my 11 month old baby here on a rare day off and I would not recommend the place to anybody; certainly not those of you with babies and/or young children. It's really gone down hill.

Upon arrival we, being the only ones queueing at the time, were ignored by reception, not even a simple "we will be with you in 2 minutes" which is basic customer service. When one colleague did eventually decide to serve us we were told that the pool was colder than normal but that we could not have a refund. We proceeded to pay under the assumption it would still be warmer than our own local pool in Newport.... boy were we wrong, it was freezing! Not only that but the water was green, the bottom of the pool was filthy with rusty hairclips, the handrails were being cleaned with wetwipes by the lifeguards, majority of the sprinklers were off as well as the lazy river and bubble spa being roped off too. The receptionist failed to tell us any of this.

My poor baby hated every second and clung to me shivering the whole time so we were in the pool no more than 10 minutes. In fact we spent more time blowing up his float than we did being in the actual pool!

If you wish to go here I recommend you calling beforehand to check everything is running as you would expect; don't waste a journey and money like we did.

User

I visited the fun pool yesterday 10th March 18, we paid nearly £20 entry for my 3 girls and myself and our experience was spoilt by what seemed like high content of chlorine, after just 25mins we had to vacate the pool because our eyes were stinging and sore. Looking around lots of other people seemed to be red faced and rubbing their eyes. Real shame, quality time with my children spoilt, for something which is easily avoidable. Disappointed Dad.

22/06/18.

Beautiful pool. But the water in the competition pool was cold. My main gripe however is that there seemed to me masses of staff around doing very little. And just appearing to stare at those swimming. I understand sometimes there are quieter days but at least try and get your staff to look busy if you have that many people on shift. I had issues getting out of the competition pool due to lack of arm strength and being in the centre of the pool in the lanes, and i felt the lifeguards couldn't have been less interested and just watched me struggle. Nice :(

User

This pool is a unique piece of architecture and has been created to inspire people to swim and to train. So why make it so difficult for swimming members to access the pool in the weekend and to use it at its full potential during the week in accordance with the timetable advertised in the Cardiff International pool website?

The re-occurrence of the circumstances described above and the poor maintenance of the timetable in the official website display poor vision for the people with the passion for swimming and automatically decrease the value of the swimmimg membership. The question is: are we getting the service for which we chose to pay a monthly fee based on the advertised timetable? I'm afraid not, and it is very sad because it affects the public swimmers with a real passion for this sport.

User

There are constant issues for the general public on the weekends. The only advertisement for available lanes is at the entrance of the pool, so you never really know until you get there. Then you find that the advertised number of lanes is not accurate as you get hit on the head with a float whilst swimming and told that the public lanes are not as advertised but are less. I'm a committed member who has been a member for many years and see that the problem is getting worse and worse due to the lack of transparency. The committed members are always the ones who have to deal with the poor management of the Cardiff international pool. It's time for the management to take control and show that they care about the committed members of the public who pay monthly fees and deserve to leave the pool after a session without being more stressed and frustrated than when they walked in.

User

Not a nice place for toddlers to swim. Water is cold, there's not much for them to do, only a small slide and a place where they can get squirted in the face. Changing room floors are stinking and it's very expensive.... Avoiding from now on....

User

Hello Cardiff International Pool. Tried having a swim this evening in the 25m pool (as advertised), usually in the top pool. However, repairs being made in the bottom pool, so the general public got moved there. No notice was given on social media or events page.

Fancy letting us know? How long will this last? Likely to effect availability of the lanes for general public? Would be good if members have emails sent when changes are made to what is advertised.

User

Not a nice place for toddlers to swim. Water is cold, there's not much for them to do, only a small slide and a place where they can get squirted in the face. Changing room floors are stinking and it's very expensive.... Avoiding from now on....
