Cariad Creative Description

LOVE YOUR BUSINESS

Enjoying life in the seaside town of Barry, Vale of Glamorgan I also love helping small and independent businesses grow their businesses online and offline.

I like to think myself as an extension to your team, rather than just another agency you outsource work to. I am passionate about creativity and love seeing businesses reach their goals – if you succeed, Cariad Creative succeeds!

I understand every business is different, but one thing that we could all do with is more time. Time to think, time to plan, time to execute those ground-breaking ideas you came up with in the shower this morning. Whilst I can’t add any more hours in your day, I can give you my experience, knowledge and of course my time to help you achieve success.

I try to help local community as much as I can. So when my existing client, Cathy Farr, approached me about her campaign to Stop The Dam in Dinas Powys, I was more than happy to be able to help her push her campaign further to save the woods in Dinas.
Now, “Stop The Dam in Dinas Powys” has a shiny new website where you can find the latest news and updates about progress the group are making.
You can also join their Facebook Group, follow them on Twitter and get involved yours...elf by sending a letter to voice your concerns using their sample letter on the site!

💡FACT.
Having a website alone isn’t enough for Google to start showing you on search results for keywords.
Not only does it take time (and regular search engine submissions) for Google to even recognise that your website exists, your website needs to be optimised for your keywords and you need to tell people about it.
... Make sure you’re promoting and encouraging people to visit your website regularly. You can keep track of the number of visitors through Google Analytics so make sure that is installed and set up on your website.
How do you promote your website? Let me know in the comments below and I’ll see if I can offer some more tips! 👇🏻

Get your website optimised ready for Christmas.
Halloween is over, so we can now OFFICIALLY discuss Christmas - and what better way to start is with your website.
As people will be spending their time online more over the next few weeks, it’s really important to get your site updated and optimised to help boost those Christmas sales.
... Here are some basic tips you need to implement now:
🧼 Clean up your site - Read through your website content and remove any out of date information including products or services you don’t sell anymore and old contact information. Update your copy & images so everything is looking ship-shape and shiny.
🛠 Fix any broken links - check ALL links on your site that lead to internal and external pages to avoid any 404 errors.
🔐 Check you have an SSL certificate on your site. This is the green padlock next to your domain in the address bar. This is a basic requirement for Google to even consider ranking your website well in its searches - plus it provides your visitors reassurance that they are visiting a secure site. Check your with hosting company that you have an SSL certificate on your site (most good hosts will provide one for free) and then make sure it’s activated on your website.
🚀 Check your page speed. Another important element for SEO ayour page speed. Google offer a free page speed check to see how fast your website loads on desktops and mobiles with recommendations for improvements. The most common problem is usually images are too big on the website.
🎤 Tell people about your website. Just because you have a site, doesn’t mean people will find you. You have to TELL people about it! Use your social media channels, email marketing, leaflets and networking events to promote your website and encourage people to visit. There’s a lot of competition out there so you need to make sure you stand out from the crowd!
Hopefully this will give you some pointers to help start getting your website ready for Christmas. There are lots more things you can do, so if you need any help, get in touch and I’ll be happy to help.

Nos Calan Gaeaf🎃
Over the years, Halloween has become very commercialised and we have adopted many American traditions - which is a marketeers dream - but Halloween hasn’t always been about pumpkins and sweets!
In Wales, it was 1st November that was celebrated as the first day of winter, however the night before was then referred to as 'Nos Calan Gaeaf’. Whilst it has always centred around all things frightening, traditions have grown over the years from fire rings with stone...s, looking in mirrors to see if you would meet your future husband or die, and of course, witches and ghosts. Now, Halloween is much more relaxed and fun event, and one of the many “holidays” businesses use to increase sales.

What do you do?
I get asked this a lot, and for me, there isn’t a one word answer like “electrician” “doctor” or “astronaut”.
I’ve been lucky enough to learn and experience a variety of skills during my employed and self-employed career, which means I am a able to provide a variety of services to my clients.
... But not only that, I am only person behind Cariad Creative, so ALL business admin, such as invoicing, contract writing, emails, marketing etc. all comes from me. 👩🏻‍💻
Plus I am a mum to a 2 year old who is home with me 24/7. 👧🏼 Plus I added editor of my own business magazine to my string too!
So, I could start my day as a web designer, chief snack-getter, then a social media manager, play dough designer, followed by an accountant, cuddle giver, back to web designer, a marketing consultant etc.... you get the drift.
I think being self-employed your job title is never one thing, as we do so many other jobs behind the scenes that you don’t always see.
