About Carmarthen Bay Film Festival

Carmarthen Bay Film Festival has gone from strength to strength over the years. In 2012, we went from 35 submissions to over 1, 000 for our 2020 festival. Not only have the submissions increased over the years, but the number of filmmakers and festival patrons attending has as well. We have had filmmakers flying in from LA, Miami, Germany, Italy, France and many parts of the UK. The number of festival partners has also grown with Stradey Park Hotel in Llanelli, RTS Wales, University of Wales Trinity St. David, Gravells of South Wales, Celtic Wine, Mari Thomas Jewellery, Barr & Co Jewellery Ltd and many more joining us this year. The festival is also a BAFTA British Short Film Competition, BAFTA Cymru /Wales and IMDB qualifying festival. We are also very proud to have John Hefin associated with the festival as well. With two awards dedicated to the memory of this wonderful man. The first being Gwobr John Hefin for Welsh language short film and the second being the John Hefin lifetime achievement award for film, television or theatre.
