And so the event is over рҹҸҙу Ғ§у Ғўу Ғ·у Ғ¬у Ғіу ҒҝвӣіпёҸрҹҮөрҹҮ №. Team Carmarthen won the hard fought Welsh Derby today 3.5 - 2.5 to take fifth position overall. We would have loved to have competed in the final today but unfortunately it was not to be.
The team have been superb throughout all playing extremely well. I couldnвҖҷt be more proud of them.
Thank you also to Ken and Edna for coming over each day to support us in our endeavours.
... I take this opportunity of thanking every single person who has helped us to get here. I also wish all the juniors here this week the very best of luck for the future in whatever their endeavours. Also all those juniors back home.
Besides the gala dinner this evening and getting them all home safe and sound tomorrow that is my time with these wonderful boys and girls over.

Well the only clean sweep of the week was achieved by our superb juniors. They did all they could today but other results didnвҖҷt go our way!! Nevertheless to win like they did today when all chips were down was fantastic. Personally I was just an emotional wreck as the scores started coming through. To say they have done themselves proud, me proud and the club proud is an understatement!! They have all played so well all week and the results do not reflect the quality of their play. So onto the 5/6th place play off against Builth Wells tomorrow - game on рҹҸҙу Ғ§у Ғўу Ғ·у Ғ¬у Ғіу ҒҝвӣіпёҸрҹҮөрҹҮ №

Apologies for the late post but weвҖҷve been busy with TV briefings and interviews for Scott and myself tonight. A tense match against West Herts today saw us fall short by 3.5 - 2.5. Congratulations to Kasumi and Sean on their wins and Jamie for a hard fought half. Bryn; Iestyn and Scott all played really well again. Barrasie tomorrow. Heads are still up and they are all positive and seeing how theyвҖҷve played I wouldnвҖҷt expect anything else from such a commited team. Day 2 - ready to go рҹҸҙу Ғ§у Ғўу Ғ·у Ғ¬у Ғіу ҒҝвӣіпёҸрҹҮөрҹҮ № And a lovely surprise visitor this morning

Playing West Herts tomorrow. First tee off at 9.44. Lie in tomorrow рҹҳң until at least 7am. Alamos tomorrow 1000 yards shorter than today but very tricky greens!

Well today didnвҖҷt actually go to plan but we can assure you it was not for the want of trying - especially when youвҖҷve gone round the course in 4 under. Four matches were decided on the 18th green which goes to show how much of a fight our juniors put up! The final score was 5.5 - 0.5. Well done goes to Kasumi on getting the half.
The same team will play again tomorrow on the Alamos at the moment our opponents have not been confirmed.

Practice Day 2 now under our belts. We played The Morgado today. To say itвҖҷs long is an understatement! Being 1000 yards longer than the Alamos yesterday it was a great test of the juniors abilities- and put some mileage on the parents step measuring devices!! Plus the weather was beautiful today with the sun shining and very little wind. We also had the pleasure of Ken and EdnaвҖҷs company for the day.
The team has now been selected and submitted. Selecting 6 players when you... have 7 in the team is not an easy task and not one I personally enjoy! But all 7 will get the opportunity to play tomorrow again on The Morgado.
The team for the competition, in handicap order, is
Bryn Thomas; Jamie Dean; Iestyn McAvoy; Kasumi Tran; Scott Jones and Sean Hazelby.
Jason Powell-Hill will play in the stableford reserves competition.

First practice round done and dusted. Today we played the Alamos in 30mph winds!! I was safely advised by one of the parents that it was not a long course all would be fine - unfortunately heвҖҷd misread the information and didnвҖҷt realise that it was meters and not yards!! Schoolboy error вӣіпёҸ The course was in great condition with extremely tough greens. All juniors played very well giving Martin and myself a headache for team selection for Friday. Very friendly welcome to the Grandparents,Parents and young golfers playing in the Wales Youth Tournament yesterday.Considering the weather the course was in excellent condition -the facilities and clubhouse are of the highest standard and the food excellent.Super day.

The course, facilities and food are really good while the friendly welcome at the 19th worth the walkпҝҪпҝҪпҝҪ

Sunday lunch is fantastic.

Great course and there's always a warm welcome from Martin & Sandy and their team at the 19th hole. Try it- you won't be disappointed

Spent another lovely evening at the club for the Summer ball, food delicious as always and a great night had by all.

Played this great course every time we go on tour to tenby. Lovely fairways and greens.great little challenges. Great welcome by everyone.nice bar and food.
