The very talented Marilyn Hill will be demonstrating a beautiful ‘David Austin Rose’ 🌹 Visitors are more than welcome to come along and meet our lovely members, we love seeing new faces! There are always tea, coffee and biscuits on offer 😊

Last night we were very fortunate to have Nicky Fuller demonstrate her amazing airbrushing skills!! I know we all learnt a lot and enjoyed very much so a big thank you to Nicky. We also welcomed 3 new visitors 👍🏻! Our next meeting is Thursday 4th July and will be a demonstration of a ‘David Austin Rose’ by Marilyn Hill 🌹

Hello We had a very good meeting last night and welcomed a new member, Kathleen. We had an absolutely wonderful demonstration from the one and only Tony Warren! He showed us how to make two butterfly orchids So impressive, So beautiful. Thank you Tony!

Also, if you wish to renew your membership it due this month so please pay by cheque or if possible put the right amount of cash in an envelope with your name on it to save time and finding change. The renewal amount is £28 for the year and £2 entry fee Visitors £5 entry free and always very welcome!🙂

Hiya folks! Hope you are all enjoying our gorgeous weather- Spring is here! AND for our first meeting of the new financial year (don't forget your annual membership of £28 is due) the brillant cake decorating artist Tony Warren will be demonstrating how to make two butterfly orchids. Please also note that to meet with Tony's other engagements in this area that April's meeting is on FRIDAY 5th! same place same time. Wow we had a fantastic meeting and workshop and many thanks go to jan thorpe who was a very patient tutor and exceptionally skilful at royal icing. Here are some photos of members and our achievements. The square cakes were Jan's work of art and she let us have a hands on demo! Always appreciated and best way to learn 😄😁

Hi, good news for everyone! Our next meeting is on FRIDAY 8th March 2019, 7pm to 9pm. Our demonstrator is the famous and extremely talented Jan Thorpe who will show us her wonderful skills with royal icing.
Also Jan will be our tutor at a workshop the next day, Saturday 9th March, which will be held at the same place, Yr Aelwd from 10am to 4pm. If anyone would like to join us for these, not to be missed, royal icing lessons at the meeting and workshop, please do not hesitate to join us. Just mention your interest in a comment below and we will contact you with information and details about the workshop or just pop along for the meeting where you will be welcomed.

Now it's almost February and time for our next Sugar guild meeting which will be on Thursday 7 th February 2019 Our demonstrator will be the lovely talented lady, Joy James, who will be showing us her bas relief skills. Hello everyone, hope you all had a very enjoyable Christmas and best wishes for a wonderful 2019! There will not be our usual meeting on 10th January as we will be having our celebration christmas dinner at the Falcon in Carmarthen. Please be there by 7pm to eat at 7.30pm. If you would like to join us and make friends with our "Sugarguilders" before attending the February 2019 meeting then please contact us asap so that your name, three course menu choice, and £20 payment in advance can be forwarded to the Falcon beforehand. Hi If you are new and interested in the Sugar guild which is a nationwide organisation with branches everywhere with even online members from abroad, we are the Carmarthen Branch and we meet on the lst Thursday (mostly) in every month from 7pm to 9.30 pm. We have a monthly meeting with friendly ladies all interested in cake decorating and we have very talented demonstrators to teach us how to achieve wonderful new skills. Also, twice a year we have our meeting on a Friday an...d follow on the next day with an all day workshop doing hands on with the skill that has been taught the evening before. I go to all of them myself and travel to other branches' workshops occasionally too, they are most enjoyable and educational. Although we don't have 'courses' as such at our meetings, there are some 2 to 3 day training events available from HQ and other places which we are informed of in our brochure/magazine that members receive quarterly. The sugarguild also have exhibitions with competitions for all levels to enter. The Cake International Exhibition is being held in the NEC Birmingham 2nd to 4th November so our next meeting will be on the 8th November 2018 as many members will be going to this fabulous display of incredible cake competition exhibits. To join our group there is a yearly subscription of £28 and then £2 per month. You are most welcome to come and give it a go, visitors are more than welcome and they pay £6 per month. Subscriptions are due in March 2019. Hope to see you in November and if you need more information please don't hesitate to ask. 😊

Hello we would like to thank wendy field for her wonderful demonstration at our October meeting when she showed us how she makes a xmas flower spray with hellebores, leaves and holly. Wendy also stayed to do a workshop for us the next day and it was so enjoyable. Wendy even stayed for an extra hour to help us all finish our projects before her long drive home. She is such a lovely lady!
