Claws, Paws and Whiskers. Last week Mimobile Vet went to assist, a local school with their term topic. We were greeted by an enthusiastic and interactive audience. We also took our Practice Directors Betsy Boo dog, who helped assist. Here at Mimobile we are always happy to help, and look forward to our art work the school are kindly creating, for a display at Carmarthen veterinary centre.

The story of Hero.. Hero was brought in one evening by a member of the public who found him straying. He had large infected scabs on his jaw and neck. After his initial examination our vets anaesthetised him to see how bad his injuries were. They were bad - once the scabs were removed you could touch the base of his skull. He also had a fractured jaw. Upon cleaning his wounds you could see a shotgun case buried inside his cheek.
No owner came forward, despite a well circulat...ed Facebook post. The CVC team agreed his horrendous injuries would need daily anaesthetics, an incredible amount of nursing and that the costs would be huge. The team pulled together and so his rehab began. He had radiographs to check for any other issues as a result of the shotgun buckshot. Bone fragments were found and removed from his cheek, his pain monitored carefully.
After a day or two he started to respond brilliantly. He was a star patient and sometimes he even kept his dressings on!!
After 2 weeks of near daily dressing changes, flushes and stitch ups he was comfortable and happy to go for walks. He started to come out of his shell in the kennels and was taken on forest and beach walks by staff. He often got a lot of attention from the public because of the "shower cap" hat he had to initially wear to protect his stitches. And his charming personality of course!
The full team pulled together to get Hero back on the road. A special thanks needs to go to the nurses and animal nurse assistants who kept him fed, watered, exercised and gave plenty of cwtches during his convalescence.
The whole team wish him well in his new home and will miss him very much.

On behalf of myself and my parents we would just like to thank Annie, Nicola and every single member of the team for everything you did to try and save our Spencer. We are so grateful for the care and compassion you showed him and ourselves. He wasn’t the easiest patient but you all still showed so much affection towards him which brought us a lot of comfort.

The card we received from yourselves this morning brought a smile to our faces at such a sad time, so thoughtful. Thank you so much for everything xx

I've dealt with CVC on a large and small animal basis ,I cannot fault the vets in either capacity.Nic dealt with little Dave through his op's and treatment , when his time came and we'd run out of options ,I had no appointment ,I just walked in spoke to Diane the receptionist (I was a mess, knowing I was going to lose my little boy ) asked to see Nic ,she reassured me Nic would be there for me ,and she was ,we didn't have to wait ,we were taken in through the back entrance ,Dave was PTS peacefully in my arms which made it awkward for NIc ,but she had all the time in the world for him and me ,then in April I lost my old pony through colic ,Kate had been out the night before and when I rang the following morning ,even though she had done a 12 plus hour shift and had officially finished ,she came back out to see him ,he also had to be PTS but she stayed with him the whole time it took me to sort out the other 7 horses ,she promised me she wouldn't leave him and she didn't ,but she didn't leave me either ,the compassion and love these vets and nurses show the animals is second to none but the care they show the owners too is unbelievable ,truly amazing people that have little recognition for the work they do Xxx

I would like to thank all the staff, from the receptionists to the surgeons and especially Nicky at CVC for showing us kindness and being so compassionate while we were trying to find out what was wrong with Lola. I too would like to thank Annie and the nurse (sorry I can’t remember her name) that looked after us and Lola on the night we had to say goodbye to her. All our pets have been treated so well by CVC. Thank you all so so much.

I have had a poorly girl Peppa over the last 2 weeks and I just wanted to say a big thanks to the Team at CVC for all that they have done for not only Peppa but for myself and my husband, always on the other end of the phone and available to see her when we had concerns. She is now on the mend after her emergency surgery and is doing really well. Thanks again for everything Rebecca & Sam x

I cannot express the gratitude I have for the service my Phoebe got during an emergency, she had cut herself and I was very panicked. The vet and nurse both made me feel instantly calmer and had the same effect on Phoebe (doggy). They cleaned her and sticthed her up so quickly and so kind to her, she never been comfy at the vets usually being rowdy but here she was calm and seemed to keep safe. She's my baby and they saved her so I am eternally grateful for the amazing, speedy and wonderfully loving treatment Phoebe received there οΏ½οΏ½

All they were interseted in was money money money my boy had to get put to sleep as our only option not even two because they couldn't be arsed to sort a payment plan. I am completely devastarted that iv lost my boy forever and its all down to u! I thought vets were ment to care for the animals not just think of the money! That u would have had if ubwould have let me set up a payment plan! Nevermind ey a yound dogs lost his life and iv lost my best friend so i hope what money ypu did have witch was a good 500 and u didnt even have him over 24 hours.
