'Singing For Fun' Wellbeing and Regeneration are hosting a free taster session on Wednesday 20th March between 2 -4pm at: Wellbeing Regeneration, Unit 3, Llanelli Gate Business Park, Llanelli, SA14 8LQ The idea behind the event is to help people feel good and the power of singing has been proven to do that. It doesn't matter what age, gender, ability or non-ability, we just want people to turn up and have some fun. As places are limited, we do need people to phone and book their space on 01554-744896

Our next movement meeting is day after tomorrow! Cancelled ealier in the year due to snow it's now happening this Wednesday at the Gorseinon Centre, Swansea 10 - 12. The same meeting will also be held at different venues across Wales. Age Cymru Connect and Keep Learning is a half day seminar at Myrtle House, Llanelli, on the 19th March. It is for groups offering or considering IT sessions / training for older people, and older individuals with some IT skills interested in using social media. There will be an introduction to why Digital Inclusion is relevant to older people, what Communities 2.0 can do for local groups and an interactive session looking at using social media to make new connections and keep in touch with friends and family. A Photographic Competition / Exhibition has been launched by the Llanelli Multicultural Society with themes of: "A Multicultural Society" and "What does Multiculturalism mean to you?". These are open to interpretation, and the entrance categories are: Under 11s, 11 - 16's, Adults, and Members of the photographic society.

‘Keeping Myself Safe’ - is a 1 day course being run on the 14th March and is aimed at young people with High Functioning Autism/Aperger Syndrome supported by a parent/carer and comprises 4 hour long sessions with breaks in between. The programme is highly visual and concrete in content and there is some use of explicit line drawings to illustrate the section covering sexual touching.

It's hoped that the mutual agreement between Barnardos Cymru and CCC will protect, maintain and offer the chance to develop and improve the current level of service for Young Carers and Disabled Children. "Looking After Me" is a 6 week programme run by carers for carers. It takes 2.5 hours a week and teaches skills to enable carers to care for their own health whilst caring for someone else. It includes relaxation techniques, communication skills, a range of cognitive techniques, the subject of working with health and social care staff and much more. Due to snow, Mencap's January movement meetings on "Your Rights In The NHS" were cancelled. The South West meeting is now rescheduled for Wed 6th March, at the Gorseinon Centre, Swansea 10-12.30 The same meetings will be held across Wales and, following on from our successful regional movement meetings in September, we invite you to discuss Your rights in the NHS with people with a learning disability, their families and cares, and professionals.
