Nice campsite. Kids loved it. Right next to beach. Great walks. Pleasant reception.

I had no issues with this site unlike a lot of the reviews! So there are some rules in place which make perfect sense to me but others think Camp colditz!
No dogs off leads?...of course...not everyone wants a dog wondering in their tent or caravan
No vehicles on site after 11pm? well perfect as I like to sleep and not be woken up by Headlamps and engine noises
No vehicles to be used on site once parked? again, children running about, peaceful, and if you can't walk from your pitch to the toilets then you shouldn't be camping.
Friendly Staff, happy to help, even knew what I meant when I asked for a "screw in gas canister"
All in all a lovely break in an amazing location!

Lovely spot right by the beach. Gets quite busy in high season, but even then it's bearable. Our first couple of days were lovely and quiet. Great walk from the campsite to Rhossili, just make sure you follow the signs carefully!!

A really lovely camping and caravan/ motor home site. We have a fairly large motor home and the site handles them well. Full washing, laundry. toilets block which are clean and we'll looked after. Site has a small shop and is only yards from the beach and chip shops. All in all a good place to stay

My son and I, and a friend with his 2 sons spent 3 night at Carreglwyd last weekend (18/8/17). Make no mistake, the location of this campsite is superb, being 15 metres from the sand on a beach which was very sparsely occupied for August. There aren't that many beaches that can boast superb rock-pooling and waves consistently good enough for body-boarding. So location = A+.

Campsite is another matter. About 90% of the site is on a hill, and not that shallow-a-hill either. We were lucky to find two pitches on approximately level ground. When booking, we explained to the owner that we were travelling down separately and the owner said he'd reserve two pitches adjacent. He didn't. And the staff were even somewhat reluctant to give me the cones to reserve the one for my friend myself. But i persisted.

There are 2 toilet blocks in the first 2 very large fields. There are no toilet blocks in any of the next 3 very large fields. The only level ground was in the furthest field about 400 meters from the block. The block had 5 toilets serving around 300 people, and the site was about 1/4 full. Of those 5 toilets, 2 had no locks on the doors and a third had a broken toilet seat. So 2 toilets for over 100 male guests. I mentioned this to the cleaner who told me this had been raised with the owners the previous year, and had done nothing about it.

It was expensive, i think, at £78 for the 3 nights. I would have been more happy to pay this for a reasonably equipped site. But not this.

The site is clearly relying on it's enviable location to avoid investing anything it the amenities and facilities.

Shame on them for such an excellent location.

2 stars for location. Zero stars for the site and attitude of the owners.

My wife and l (and our dog) stayed 3 nights. Thè staff were very helpful. The site is in a lovely location and well maintained. There are 2 shower blocks. There was only 3 showers in the block closest to our pitch, which must be a nightmare in peak season. The showers are not very good. You have to keep stretching in to operate the valve under cold water until it warms up. The spray also splashes all over the floor, you soon learn to keep EVERYTHING off the floor, which is difficult as there are hardly any hooks. Its also very cold as the only heating is an electric wall heater that didn't work. The black waste disposal is very basic. I would recommend a pitch fairly close to the toilet block otherwise it could be a long walk. The approach to the site is very steep and narrow, ok for competent drivers!
Thee nearest decent food shop is a few miles away in the petrol station, which is on the left on the road leading to the site.
We would not visit again.

Site is reasonably flat, plenty of room and good facilities. The local amenities include a nice beach, pub, cafe and chip shop. If you like walks then this is ideal. If you want social clubs or drinking sessions, this may not be the place! All round nice place. HOWEVER... we have been before and MUST WARN YOU ... we found the management/staff to be downright weird, borderline rude and extremely unhelpful at best! Our last recent trip was a bit bold in bad weather, but we persevered. An hour into it and a 60mph gust hit the 5 man tent and obliterated the pole end. I walked over to the lodge/shop/reception area where there stood manager, wife and daughter. I explained what had happened and asked if they sold replacement poles, fix kits or any help at all? I was faced with a stare from manager and wife, followed by complete ignorance to the extent they simply walked away. I was left with the teenage daughter who delicately explained she didn't know what to do! For a campsite, this is absolutely disgusting and rude. They did have a complete wall dedicated to booze and pointless items though! Consequently, we packed up and left. If they'd spent just 5 mins advising or helping then my experience would reflect a different review, alas it remains at 2 stars.
