About Casanovacardiff
Casanova is a unique italian restaurant, that tries to blend modern and traditional italian cooking.
Casanovacardiff Description
Casanova Restaurant was opened in 2005 by three Italian friends; Antonio Cersosimo, Luca Montuori and Angelo Montuori with the idea of bringing to Cardiff authentic Italian food cooked with the finest ingredients.
Casanova is now regarded as one of the best and most authentic Italian restaurants in Wales. The food is freshly cooked using the very best of local produce, and direct imports such as salami, extra virgin olive oil, truffles and pasta. The cuisine focuses on authenticity with an eye on modern techniques and styles. The menu is seasonal and not very extensive in order to ensure maximum quality and attention to detail.

Wow is all I can say, anyone that’s knows me will tell you I enjoy my food! Great service even better food!
What an absolute gem! The location is spot on, being close to the stadium; parking; and quirky bars. From the outside looking in, it's rather deceptive. Inside there are 2 floors, and it was very busy (good sign!) We were a fairly large group, so very pleased we had booked in advance. From the start the staff were very welcoming and attentive. The food in one word was simply FANTASTIC!! The wine list was also impressive, and we had a few bottles to accompany our meals. As the courses were being brought out, they looked and smelled so delicious, we all sampled each others. Would highly recommend Casanova, and I intend on bringing hubby here on our next date night!
This small family run place was brilliant. The food was divine, every mouthful of every course was packed full if flavour. The service was impeccable. One of the best restaurants I have been to. Highly recommend it.
This is fine dining at an affordable price. Always a warm welcome . Best restaurant in Cardiff in my opinion . I advise booking as its always well attended. Good wine too.
This is a great place for a fantastic value lunch or for a more leisurely evening meal. We return regularly for the genuine Italian food and warm welcome. Yesterday, we had a family meal to celebrate my daughter's graduation. The food was superb - my 89-year old mother said that her steak was the best she had ever tasted. My agnello with chorizo mash was absolutely delicious. The wine is also excellent. Don't go to this restaurant expecting bog-standard lasagne and pizza though - the menu is far too original for that!
Simply amazing food, great service and a wonderful atmosphere. Casanova is not to be missed, a beautiful restaurant.
Never anything but wonderful!
My husband is Sicilian & a brilliant cook so for him to give a restaurant 5* is a rare occurrence. We called in for lunch & had a superb 2 course meal. The menu reflected everything good about Italian food & the specials were an added bonus. We will be back.
Lovely service, wine & food.
Returned for a special meal and not disappointed - it's not garlic bread n pizza it's quality food you only find in small specialist restaurants. ENJOY
Recommend this sparkling red wine.
Lovely atmosphere, lovely food, great selection and service. Well deserved reputation!
I went last week and was treated like a Queen.
The food was delicious, the waitress was so friendly and chatty. Also the chef came out and told me about the specials.
If I am ever back in Cardiff...I will definitely be back :-)
I have been going there for many years. Impeccable service from friendly staff who quickly make you welcome like great friends. Delishous authentic food that is seasonal, exciting with the chefs more than willing to change the menu to suit your needs x
I don't know where to start, my self and my wife took my visiting parents and in laws out for a meal, we were treated like royalty and service was excellent!
As for the food well................... Unbelievable! does not come close I had scallops to start followed by steak which was the best I have ever had, thats saying something after eating steak in Argentina.
Will be back again and recommending it to friends.
I booked on a friends recommendation & must say wasn't disappointed. The service was personal & friendly. The food was beautiful - all 3 courses were delicious as was the wine. Have booked us another visit already.
Had a lovely unhurried lunch with a friend at this delightful little restaurant in the heart of the city. Staff are friendly and welcoming. The food is beautiful: modern, tasty Italian cuisine at its best. Goat cheese and beetroot salad with honey vinaigrette and pine nuts to start, a gorgeous risotto negro with prawns, broad beans and prosciutto from the specials board for main and a creamy caramel pannacotta with praline and nut topping for dessert. A lovely experience and I will definitely return.
Great wine, great food and great service. We will be back. Can't fault it.
Fabulous food and great service
Attended as a last minute booking for our Anniversery ,
A beautiful little resteraunt found in the heart of the Welsh capital .
Authentic Italian menu , by that I mean it's not flooded with a large choice of dishes , instead your greeted with a smaller superb choice of finely cooked foods .
At one point I closed my eyes whilst eating and I was sat back in Rome .....
Amazing staff, food and service, can’t wait to return...5*+
