Castle Inn

Great little pub. Staff helpful and they sorted me out with a room when my intended accommodation fell through. Food there is great - fresh seafood and a lovely dessert. The breakfast that came with the room was great too. Good selection of local beers and a very nice still cider! Log fire, pool table, darts, jukebox and bar billiards available.

Nice pub. Ok selection of ales. Friendly atmosphere and smells of great food. Good bar service too. Great pub no complaints!!

Dogs allowed in bar area and offered some very tasty treats! Same food served here as in restaurant. Food very tasty! Staff friendly and toilets very clean.

Great selection of beers and well priced good food. Staff are very friendly. felt like a regular after only 2nd visit. It is also Dog friendly in the pub area so another thumbs up.

They had too much on the menu to serve us efficiently. We waited ages for a simple burger and chili and nachos. They clearly couldn't cope. Also food arrived ridiculously hot. So hot it burnt and blistered my mouth. I complained a couple of days later via email and I didn't even get an apology. Food should never be served so hot it blisters your mouth. On the bright side the place looks nice and the beer selection is okay.

Good atmosphere.

Went for dinner. There is a difference between the pub side and the restaurant side, not in terms of food quality, but in terms of service. Eating in the pub, you get plenty of space. The restaurant features closer staff relationships. Anyway, nice pub food. Close enough to the beach to make it wallabies and nicely in the center of Newport.

From a drinkers point of view excellent beer, friendly staff and locals. Dogs allowed in the bar

Awful..we waited ages for our meal...in the meantime the main waiter presented us with the dessert menu...we hadn't had our mains!! When it arrived small portions...a glorified Mc Donalds!! I ordered a medium wine...it was a small...when i queried it a bi spectacled young lady told me it was in a large wine glass....why a medium or should i say small...in a large wine glass??..her attitude was bad! I have eaten all over the world...if you think this place is great...u havnt eaten properly!! Fawlty Towers came to mind...haha....but that would have been more fun..than this overpriced,sombre place!! & If this review isn't printed....dnt worry it's going to be printed somewhere else!!
