Cefn y Waun really is far from the madding crowd! 'Cefn y Waun' translates to the Back of the Heath – describing exactly its rural location on the ridge of the Hay Forest. Peace and quiet is guaranteed as the cottage is located in our privately owned 200 acre woodland, through which guests have the freedom to wander. The Black Mountains are at your doorstep, offering fantastic walking country with breath-taking views across the Brecon Beacons, Radnorshire hills and across to the English borders. Explore the local town of Hay on Wye, famous for its individual boutiques and countless bookshops. Choose from a great range of pubs or restaurants to dine before making your way back to Cefn y Waun to relax in the deep bathtub or in the cosy lounge in front of the wood burning stove, maybe with a glass of wine.
