Dinas Head and Snowdonia viewed from Fishguard this morning. I know where I would prefer to be!
Delighted to be a finalist in the 2017 Welsh Hospitality Awards.
My new friend. It's no wonder that guests enjoy watching the avian cabaret through the dining room window while eating our award-winning breakfast.
Just returned from the Sustainable Food Trust's two day conference "Harmony in Food and Farming" held at Llandovery College.
An interesting blend of speakers and delegates with academics, researchers and practitioners all involved.
Fascinating to hear Dame Ellen MacArthur talking of finding plastic bottles floating in the Southern Ocean while taking part in the solo round the world Vendee Globe yacht race and how that discovery has influenced her subsequent life.
... Bronwen Percival has left me pondering the differences in cheese and the variation between artisan cheese and ARTISAN CHEESE!
Also good to hear Darina Allen from Ballymaloe Cookery School who taught me so much ten years ago.
A thought provoking two days stimulated by the content of the "Harmony" book by keynote speaker HRH Prince Charles.

Wonderful that the European Champions League Final will be played in Cardiff tomorrow. I wonder how many people will realise that Cefn-y-Dre Country House, assisted by Peter Hands of the Speech House Hotel in the Forest of Dean, brought the trophy onto Welsh territory as long ago as January 2006. The trophy in the photograph is the ORIGINAL, gifted to Liverpool FC after winning the league for the fifth time in May 2005. The trophy being played for tomorrow is the replacement!
I hope Gordon from Melin Tregwynt (home to the most amazing fabrics) is feeling better today. As for Little John . . . . .
Cefn-y-Dre's first swallow of the year, must be feeling the cold though. 17.15 Wednesday.
Congratulations to Cardigan Castle. Winner of Restoration of The Year!
New BUDGIE BREAKS! For a short period, following numerous requests, we will be offering the opportunity for guests to bring their pet budgerigars with them on holiday thus avoiding the stress caused by being separated from their faithful friends. Book your BUDGIE BREAK today!
Well played Scotland! What a superb opening game to the world's top rugby tournament.
Christmas decorations without using drawing pins or sticky tape. Remove pots of chilli peppers from the greenhouse and place in porch. Instant effect, organic and EDIBLE!
A case of bad timing. First scented daffodils of the season - planted just over three weeks ago to provide a splash of colour for Christmas but have ended up with premature blooms. At least they smell great and the guests love them.
Just checked in to Jolyons at No 10 prior to tonight's Welsh Hospitality Awards at the Mercure. Definitely my type of hotel! No 10 is the place to be. ( Just ask Theresa)
Oops! got it wrong, the date of the Welsh Hospitality Awards is Monday 28 November. Would have had a long wait for dinner!
Great to be a finalist in the Welsh Hospitality Awards 2016. Now looking forward to the event in Cardiff on 27 November.
