About us. . . . .

Celtic Engineering Services Ltd, Port Talbot was incorporated in 1982 & has strong relationships with numerous customers, dating back to that time.
Our customer base ranges from companies in the ‘Steel Making’, ‘Paper Making’, ‘Structural’, ‘Automotive’, ‘Recycling’, ‘Marine’ & ‘Farming’ Industries.
Celtic Engineering Services provides general engineering services to clients across the UK from its head office and manufacturing base at Port Talbot.
The range of services is extensive. From engineering design, manufacture and machining of heavy plant components through to on-site welding, erection and maintenance of gantries and associated steelwork structures.
No project is too small or large for the company to consider and all projects are delivered to time and budget by its trained workforce by following the company's established quality procedurtes.
The company has BS EN ISO 9001-2008 quality accreditation and and carries BS EN 1090-2: 2008 + A1: 2011 certification to Execution Class 2 (for load bearing, CE marked structures) and maintain these standards to the latest guidelines.

Products and Services

Machining. . . . .

Celtic Engineering has invested heavily in its machine shop facilities to provide a comprehensive service that can manufacture large items used by heavy plant down to small components.
The workshops have overhead crane facilities that can handle up to 10 tonne load and a wide selection of conventional milling machines and lathes to address most precision machining requirements.
Projects undertaken by Celtic Engineering range from refurbishment of plant components, flanges, shafts and bearing housings to the manufacture of batches of smaller items for use in other non-plant equipment.
The staff have a depth of experience in all kinds of steel and non-ferrous materials and prides itself in carrying out precision and intricate engineering projects.

Our machine shop has the facility to machine large diameter components, such as Flanges, Dished Ends & Large Bearing Housings.

Fabrication. . . . .

Celtic Engineering has a range of machinery including iron workers, rolls, folders and guillotines suitable for fabricating structures and components from steel, stainless steel or aluminium.

Stainless Steel Fabrication. . . . .

We are fully equipped to carry out 'Stainless Steel' fabrication & welding at our premises.

Welding. . . . .

Celtic Engineering has an experienced staff of welders who are qualified and experienced in : -
Metal Inert Gas Welding (M. I. G. )
Manual Metal Arc Welding (M. M. A. )
Tungsten Inert Gas Welding (T. I. G. )
And have expertise with all steels and aluminium metals.
The company carries out weld testing to the appropriate standard through a qualified testing agency and provides full inspection and test documentation on all work carried out.

Celtic Engineering can provide teams of experienced people to carry out a range of on-site services associated with the construction, maintenance, repair and inspection of plant, structures and machinery. The teams can include: -

All on-site staff carry "passport to safety" accreditations are work to the latest Construction Design and Management Regulations (CDM).

Structural Engineering. . . . .

At Celtic Engineering Services we have the knowledge of design (through association), manufacturing & installation of ‘Structural Steelwork’ for conveyors, buildings etc.
From the design stage through to the installation & commissioning we can provide full traceability via design calculations, material certification & safety documentation.
After the manufacture by our skilled workforce & any surface finish requirements, by our very experienced sub-contractors the installation is carried out by our site personnel who are fully equipped & extremely competent.

Design. . . . .

We offer the services of ‘Design’, either by association with local companies whom we work very closely with, or internally, we can provide detailed drawings for our customers, which would require their approval, prior to manufacture. This can range from small machined items, fabrications, machinery through to structural steelwork.

Quality. . . . .

The quality approach used by the company means that all metals and proccesses used are documented, traceable and certified to client requirements and according to BS EN ISO9001-2008 & BS EN 1090-2: 2008 + A1: 2011 quality standards.
The company can provide engineering drawings, can work from client drawings and can also work from patterns or samples.
