We were here for our honeymoon.

Staff were excellent. Rooms amazing.

Had breakfast and dinners in the various restaurants and they were all amazing. Staff were very friendly professional. From the moment we arrived to when we left we felt welcome and were truly treated as guests . Absolutely 5šŸŒŸšŸŒŸšŸŒŸšŸŒŸšŸŒŸ Thank you.

The staff were brilliant, I needed to have a gluten free sandwich and when my husband asked it took less than five minutes for them to produce this, it was excellent service. I can't thank them enough. Nothing was too much trouble. I was with the Langston memorial group.

Stayed on the 6th Floor - Signature Collection. Beautiful rooms. Lovely staff. Cathy who seems to be a supervisor of a sort was lovely. Really lovely. Murat - bless him, probably the restaurant supervisor was just incredible too. All the Signature floor staff were superb. Not one little issue. We were a group of ladies and had quite high expectations - they were met and we are all coming back. Complimentary wine +choc was really handy too. Thank you.xx

What a great place but for the 15th on the 2010 coarse this hole needs to be sorted out it needs to be a risk and reward hole not a boring slap every one I spoke to about the coarse all said the same it's the only thing that spoils a great coarse there should be 2 options from the Tee around the boring fairway or go for the green across the crap this means moving the Tee to the right and play from the other Tee pen up the gap in the trees and make the area between the Tee area and about 30 yards in front of the Tee OB the let them have the choice it may make the round a bit slower but much more enjoyable

User

Beautiful surroundings and excellent customer service! The food is exquisite with plenty of choices and cocktails to die for. Food and drinks are fit for a king!! This said, it would be more beneficial if you were as rich as a king!! The drinks price list is extortionate and highway robbery!!

I expect good quality and high standards to cost a little extra and believe in the concept of 'you get what you pay for'. However, I also do not understand the need to charge Ā£5 for parking facilities and Ā£7 per child for the use of a bouncy castle when we have already paid for the privilege of staying overnight.

Nevertheless a lovely extra special treat for an anniversary celebration.

Just spent 3 nights at Celtic Manor during a bank holiday heatwave. The golfing was excellent but the only reason that the number of stars Iā€™ve given is so high.

The resort itself is remarkably average. Poor service from seemingly uninterested staff. Over priced, low quality food from its restaurant. Steak on 6 is vastly overrated. Had to ask for wine glasses to drink from instead of the octongal, plastic looking glasses they provide which look like they escaped the 1970ā€™s.

The resort charges for everything it can, Ā£15 per night to park your car even as a resident is shocking, what quality hotel does that? Travelodge I expect it from.

If you are going to Celtic Manor you need to pay the extra if you want 5star. We could not fault the signature suite and steak on six and had a brilliant time however our experience of the main hotel and the olive tree restaurant was the opposite. Dirty bath and tiles (rest of room ok) and able to clearly hear people in next room. Did feedback but heard nothing. The olive tree we was seated in cold conservatory area and food was 3star (some desserts and pastries obviously not fresh). We did complain when milk was brought in dirty jug and did have a phone call to say they would have a word with restaurant and sorry. Very disappointed at their customer service.

The 2010 golf course is unplayable at the moment and a shadow of its former self. We played today 12 April 2018 and it wasn't worth 10 pound let alone 59 pounds. I suggest save your money. Greens are bumpy fairways uncut as it's so wet and tee areas brought way forward

Very disappointing.

After a disappointing overnight stay for various reasons we were promised lunch vouchers as an apology. This promise was made a month ago. Despite me using my time and phone to chase these vouchers several times the promise of vouchers still just remains a promise ...no sign of them yet ! I receive promotional emails 3 or 4 times a day from the Manor but no vouchers ....ironic really as the vouchers were an apology for negative feedback !!

The manor. Tired rooms, unhelpful reception, breakfast very bad. On complaining to the manager we received 2 bottles of wine with our dinner in the steak on six, which was good.we have stayed in the main hotel some 5 years ago, when it was exalent. Not now.

Even to trying to charge you Ā£15.00 per night for car parking.

Very disappointing for our guests, will not be going back. I believe they are living on there 5star past. It is more like a conference centre now.

As for the golf course, we are all good golfers, it should not have been open ,mud mud mud. I wonder what would have happened if one of us had slipped over and seriously hurt ourselves.

My fiancĆ© and I decided to book the Celtic Manor last week for a night away and a relaxing afternoon and night off work. Weā€™ve never been before however, weā€™ve heard so much about it and seen so many social media adverts we thought weā€™d give it a try!

Well what an absolute shambles of a hotel, the owner should be ashamed and mortified, 5* I wouldnā€™t even give it 1* for its service! We arrived early afternoon, and surprisingly even though check in was at 4pm we were allowed in half hour early, the check in staff were ok, they were missing a smile but I could live with that!

The room was ok, nothing spectacular that a 5* should offer, the room was quite small and the air con didnā€™t work, the windows could of done with a clean but again maybe my expectation is a little high!

We had treatments booked in in the spa and as we had half hour to spare we thought weā€™d grab a drink at the bar! Apparently the bar isnā€™t a bar, you canā€™t actually go up and order a drink?? We were told to grab a seat and someone would be right over! That was laughable! We waited 15 minutes to be given a menu by an incredibly miserable waitress and then another 8 minutes to get asked for an order (yes the service is that bad and I was that appalled I recorded the timings), but by the time the waitress came back over it was time for us to head downstairs for our treatments so I declined the offer to order, and received a huff! You might want to buy a duster for your window cils!

The spa was a delight compared to our eventful start to the afternoon. Our treatments were both good and the ladies were lovely!

That evening we upgraded our package to eat in Rafters, well what a disappointment that was! We had to wait 10 minutes for a minibus over, and on the journey over were met by numerous unhappy guests moaning about service, so much so the bus driver radioed over to ask someone to get to the golf club asap (and I use his words) ā€œthere is yet another angry guest in the gold club please can we get a bus there now, heā€™s agitated like the rest of our guests this eveningā€ says it all really!!!

Rafters was a huge disappointment, there were chairs set in a row by the side of the restaurant which made it feel like we were sat by a storage cupboard, the service again slow and not massively friendly, my partner asked for a drink 3 times before it arrived! Food was incredibly bland, tasteless, so much so we left most of it! Other customers seemed to push there food around the plate too! The cocktails Ā£12.50 and served in a champagne flute, laughable really, much to say I only ordered 1! We left pretty disappointed.

We left on Saturday after a pretty bog standard breakfast (I canā€™t say much I had a yoghurt as the food looked pretty unappetising) at check out we didnā€™t even get asked did we enjoy our stay the girl was more concerned with getting our money and us gone, and the Ā£15 parking charge, as if your not making enough money!

Overrated hotel, would struggle to get a 1* these days if it was reviewed! I wouldnā€™t waste my time money or energy returning! I think its about time the owner started reading the reviews for his hotel on here and social media as there horrendous and I would be ashamed if it was mine!

Iā€™ve thought about this all day

Iā€™ve only ever posted positive reviews if I have something negative to say Iā€™d phone customer services etc

But today took the biscuit (pardon the pun)

Afternoon tea at the Celtic manor was an absolute joke

It was pathetic on a monumental scale

I did say Iā€™d never go there again

And today it just went to prove that it is one of the worst places Iā€™ve ever had food in

And our tea most certainly didnā€™t look like the pic from 2014 who is a review behind mine

If it had bin I wouldnā€™t be giving a negative review.

Booked a room with a cot, double checked upon arrival and was assured that it was in the room. No cot! Numerous calls to reception and 2 visits to get this sorted. Over 3hrs from check in to getting the cot. Not good with a 7 month old baby.

Whilst waiting for the cot we went for a drink in the Olive Tree. Upon leaving we discovered the staff had blocked off the ramp with a large settee to stop people using it, leaving us to carry the baby down the stairs in her pram. No assistance from staff.

The toilet seat in the room was also defective and in a dangerous state causing personal injury. This was reported to reception who advised us that the ā€œmaintenance guy would look at itā€. No questions were asked about the injury or if medical assistance was required.

We then went down to Rafters for dinner. Big mistake. Only 6 options on the mains menu and 2 of those were unavailable upon arrival. Ordered a beer whilst deciding what to do only to be advised that there were no draught beers available. 5* golf resort apparently.

All in all, we left more stressed out than we were when we checked in, so much for a relaxing break!

The hotel is rundown and dated and service is unacceptable. I donā€™t know how much longer they can ride on the back of the 2010 Ryder Cup as the resort doesnā€™t seem to have much more to offer.

Anyone visiting the Celtic Manor Christmas kingdom with your little ones I wouldn't bother going what an absolute joke ! It is literally a conveyor belt of cash to them. The first 10 minutes of the visit is basically a promo video for the hotel fronted by none other than the CBeebies star Rebecca aka chief elf, you are then hurried through 2 tiny rooms to make a shoddy gingerbread man with glue spreaders and icing that doesnt stick and where there isnt enough room for all kids to sit down. No Interaction from staff the entire time we were there and this was supposed to be a magical wonderland filled with fun. Then on to the next room to write a letter to santa with no pens available and yet again not enough space for the kids to sit down. Then on to see the big man himself ! We were led through a corridor with icicles hanging down that were scruffy and dirty these had definatly seen better days. We were led to a door the girls had to knock to which there was no response and we were in to see santa who clearly couldn't give 2 minutes of his time to interact properly wirh my girls he had may as well been the grinch. The FINAL straw was the fact you could clearly hear ANOTHER SANTA in the room next to us asking another child what they wanted for Christmas !! My 8 year old picked up on this straight away and started asking questions which will now lead to her now not believing in santa !! The pictures at the end are useless not even close enough to see the girl's faces and my kids aren't even looking at the camera. In the waiting area for the photos there is a massive lion statue in assuming this is where the poor reindeer were kept before they were removed. If that wasn't enough of a nightmare before Christmas then the icing on the cake was to find out the reindeer had been removed by the rspca for neglect amd cruelty, not what was stated in the email that they were taken away due to unforseen circumstances.

All in all one of the worst Christmas experiences I have ever had !! Thanks for that Celtic manor I'm sure your laughing all the way to the bank. Merry f*****g Christmas
