Patches the ‘Perfect Rabbit’ is a 3 year old Lop Cross. He came in with his owner to see our Vet, Robin, today as he wasn’t feeling very well. He was very well behaved and even posed for a photograph!🐇🐾

However the team does it with a smile on their face and I am constantly amazed at how they function in sometimes difficult and emotional circumstances. The hot summer weather is set to continue for another 2-3 weeks.🌞🌡️
There are lots of warnings out there about the dangers of leaving your dog in a car in this extreme heat, and this illustrates why - even with the windows open, your car will reach the same temperatures inside as an oven. Hot enough to bake biscuits.
Please leave your dog at home rather than take them and leave them in the car!

Wales continues to bask in beautiful sunshine and sweltering temperatures. Unfortunately this week in Bristol, a pet lost their life to heatstroke after being taken for a walk at 9am, in 21 degree heat.
The RSPCA has warned pet owners of the dangers of heatstroke and how many owners, despite warnings, have still been taking their pets out on school runs, to the shops or as they get in from work.
"Vets Now" have released an article about the dangers of heatstroke - what signs ...to look out for and also what to do if you suspect your canine companion is suffering from heatstroke.

Porthmadog in Gwynedd was the hottest place in the UK on Tuesday, with a temperature of 30 degrees centigrade! And these high temperatures are expected to continue across North Wales over the next few days.
The BBC forecast today showed that in Abergele at 9am it was already around 19 degrees, so even a morning walk can be too warm for your pet.
Our emergency out of hours cover, Vets Now, have released this diagram of what high temperatures can do to your dog, and when it ma...y be safe to walk.
Your dog may be grumpy from not getting their regular walk, but their health is more important than heading out in the extreme heat.

We recently took our two Shih tzus Beau and Lilly for a routine operation which was carried out at the Abergele surgery by Linda. All of the staff we met have made us feel at ease and genuinely care for the animals. We also took out the Pet Plan which saved money on the operations and includes flea and worming treatments plus other benefits and is a great idea. We would highly recommend Celyn Vets and their Pet Plan to anyone.

We adopted our Golden Retriever in November, and as he was already registered with Celyn, we decided to keep him there. We have visited the practice a few times since then, and I am extremely pleased with the help and support we have had sorting out Blue's health issues. The reception staff are always very friendly and helpful and Kappie the vet is excellent with Blue - in fact Blue almost pulls me over in his excitement to go into the vets, which I guess speaks for itself!

The care my kitten has received has been amazing! Thank you everyone, Pepsi appreciates this also ��

Heard a customer talking in a local shop about how Abergele branch looks great, a new welcoming attitude with good customer service and that it’s easier to arrange future appointments so I know where I will bring my pet now! See you soon

Always had first class professional care for our two hounds- Gibbs and Jessie. It’s a very welcoming practice and although our two don’t really like the experience of being at the vets (normally run for the door when they hear their name) the vets and all the staff are superb with them!
