A lovely and cool 21 c today. Most summers that would be one of our hottest days ☀️
Playing peekaboo with Nanny this morning 😘
This is definitely a must see for me.
This is the lovely view of the garden today from my painting studio. Managed to take some time painting for a couple of hours. Decided the ironing could wait today.
If you are staying with us this summer, another place to spend a few hours, great restaurant too.
Looking towards Carmel from the Wirral.
The hot weather continues and Les and I are back after a few days away in the caravan, ready to welcome guests again tomorrow. We went to the Wirral Country Park, just opposite where we live, over the Dee. Instead of looking towards the Wirral and Liverpool we have been looking towards the Welsh coast for a few days. Tried very hard to pick out our house but couldn’t !
You may have heard the old saying 'Ne'er cast a clout till May be out'. It's been in use since at least the 18th century. A clout is an old word for a piece of clothing. Some people think 'May' refers to the month but others take it to mean the May flower or hawthorn.
Anyway after a long winter and early summer I have today packed up all the winter duvets and put the summer duvets on the beds. Let’s hope the weather stays fine now for the next few months.
This morning at breakfast a guest ask if we had any pickled onions! Ketchup, brown sauce, mustard, chilli sauce, Worcester sauce are the usual requests. Anyone know of a more unusual request to go with a cooked breakfast ?.........
Mystical goings on in Talacre
We are lucky enough to get lovely reviews from guests and many are complementary but this one written in our guest book this morning, really touched us. Thanks Joan and Rob.
Looking forward to watching all the excitement on the tv tomorrow. Good luck Harry and Meghan, hope you have a happy life together.
