2009 saw a group of enthusiastic villagers, mostly crafters approaching the Chairman of Llanbadrig Community Council, asking to rent the former double fronted newsagents in Cemaes Bay High Street that had been standing empty for some time.

The Chairman negotiated with the estate agent with whom the property was for sale and a deal was struck to secure the property. Once this was done, volunteers set about cleaning, painting the shop with donated paint. Electrical work and a new carpet laid saw the shop open its doors.

There are thirty six table holders, each paying a fee for the space and a percentage of sales to the shop. The monies raised pay for rent, power etc. And the really nice part is, profits help to fund local events and projects. An open AGM allows anyone to see how funds are raised and spent.
