Sessions must be pre-booked and payment made by 20th July 2019 for the reduced price. Sessions expire after the 31/8/19.
As always these are the dates I am to work however for any cancellations made by me - the expirey date will be extended to reflect this.

When reading, there are lots of strategies we can use to help us.
Here at #CerrigCamuTutoring, before we start a new book, we like to look at key words within the story and speed read them! ‚Ź≥
We think about words that we can split up and read in syllables and we try reading the root word first then looking at the suffix! ūüí°
... This helps by helping with confidence as we read through the book and also allows the children to practice and use the strategies needed when reading independently.

What a super star this little one is.
During our session we had been looking at the sounds -igh and ow. When we were reading the cards we started to make up some silly and some real sentence!
We decided to write some down and used our red pen for the tricky, red words and our green pen for words we can sound out!
... He was so proud of his sentences!!

Motivational Monday!
Sometimes children need a little longer on a specific aspect, or they need to get something off their chest. Sometimes they want time to tell someone the funniest joke, or something that they found sad that day. The best thing about 1:1 is that I am there for my little ones, no matter what they need. My time is for them and we can go at their pace. ... No child or child’s needs are the same. And therefore no session is the same!

We have 10 fingers and there are so many ways to use them to help with maths! ‚ěē‚ěĖ‚ěó‚úĖÔłŹūüĖźūüŹľūü§öūüŹľ
When children count on their fingers, they take an abstract concept‚ÄĒmathematics‚ÄĒand translate it into the most basic, tangible form.
In fact, neurobiologists believe that the brain is hardwired to ‚Äúsee‚ÄĚ a representation of our fingers even when we aren‚Äôt literally counting on them.
... There is a section of the brain, called the somatosensory finger area, that activates when we respond to heat, pressure, pain, or the use of a given finger.
Studying brain scans, researchers discovered that when students ages 8 to 13 work on subtraction equations, the somato¬≠sensory region ‚Äúlights up‚ÄĚ on the scans, even if the students aren‚Äôt using their fingers.
The more complex the subtraction problem, the more activity is detected in the somatosensory region. The researchers theorize that when the brain is called on to subtract, it automatically marshals its finger-counting ability to get the job done, regardless of whether any actual fingers are doing the counting.
