Changing Gearz

Changing Gearz is part of the Inspire 2 Achieve and Inspire 2 Work project in Torfaen. Part of our work is giving our participants practical experience and qualifications in mechanics and work with them to refurbish donated cycles to sell to the public.

Changing Gearz is part of the LIFT /CODI project in Torfaen; Blaenau Gwent and Caerphilly which provides support for young people aged 14 to 24 to access education, employment or training. It provides opportunities for young people to break down barriers preventing their positive personal development.
Changing Gearz is a bike project developing as a social enterprise in Torfaen, providing young people with an opportunity to engage in structured and accredited courses and activities to help improve their confidence and skills and provide them with quality training and support.
The project provides various courses for young people on bicycle maintenance and also instructor led safer cycling activities to improve their health and wellbeing, using the local cycle tracks and canal paths.
As part of our project, our qualified staff work closely with young people on refurbishing and updating donated and unused bikes to a high standard to sell on to the public.
