Channel One - Newport Hospital Radio Description
Channel One, Newport Hospital Radio is a registered charity and is the Royal Gwent Hospital's voluntary radio station. We broadcast on channel one of the Hospedia bedside entertainment system evenings Mon- Fri and morning shows on Sat and Sun.
We currently have a team of around 15 volunteers who help collect requests, carry out admin and technical duties and of course presenters who broadcast live to the patients of the Royal Gwent Hospital.

Channel One has recently lost one of its founding and most loyal members. Tracey Browning passed away on Mon 7th May.
It goes without saying that anyone who ever met or worked with Tracey knew what a kind hearted person she was. Her passing has left us all shocked and saddened.
Tracey was the backbone of Channel One for many a year and it will take time for Channel One to adjust to life without 'Our Trace'.
... We will be holding a tribute show in memory of Tracey in the future and we will announce details when finalised.
Channel One would also like to pay our condolences to the Browning family and all of Tracey's friends.
Rest In Peace Tracey. You will be missed. Xx
