Charles Grisedale

Charles Grisedale set up Cefngwyn Hall in Ceredigion, West Wales, some 40 years ago. It is now run as a commercial duck shoot.

A few miles inland from the Cardigan Bay coast, the shoot is situated on floating bog, marshland /wetland and grassland. There over 45 ponds and lakes, making it ideal habitat for duck.

SHOOTS:
The usual bag is upwards of 250 for up to 10 guns, but depending on the skill of the guns much larger numbers are achieved.
Guns meet at Cefngwyn Hall at 9: 15 a. m. for coffee before three morning drives. Lunch is included in the price (three course meal or, if preferred, a buffet) and takes place in the comfort of the main hall, with a warming log fire on those cold winter days.
Two drives follow in the afternoon, with tea and coffee (or something stronger) served with delicious, tempting home made cakes to end the day.
From early November onwards, an evening flight over pools is also included.
Species that are shot can include: Mallard, Teal, Widgeon, Pintail, Shoveller, Tufted Duck, Goldeneye, Canada Goose, Greylag, Snipe. Due to the shoot location, most wildfowl on the west coast call in throughout the season.

Price = £620 per gun.

Single guns, smaller parties and full parties are welcome. Non-shooting guests and dogs are very welcome. Please let us know exact numbers for catering purposes.
