It’s National Children’s Day UK today! It’s all about the importance of having a healthy childhood and protecting the rights and freedoms of kids to ensure that they grow up to be happy, healthy adults.
We want to focus on children’s voice today. It’s important to remember that children have the right to have a say in the decisions that affect them, and Children in Wales works hard to help children and young people’s voices be heard.
Our Young Wales participation project is ...working to find out children and young people’s views on Brexit, and our Getting More Involved in Social Care project is designing guides and toolkits on issues that matter to disabled and care-experienced young people.
In Wales, things are moving towards making it easier for children to have their voices heard. The Welsh Youth Parliament is being set up, and the Welsh Government is planning to lower the voting age at local elections to sixteen.
What about you? Tell us about the events and projects that you’re running to promote children’s rights and to ensure that children and young people grow up happy and healthy! #NCDUK2018 National Children's Day UK

Should care leavers have a passport? Voices from Care Cymru and the National Youth Advocacy Service Cymru are holding events during Care Leavers’ Week to talk about leaving care with passports. If you’re a young person or a professional, come along to the event and discuss your experiences, the benefits of a passport, the barriers and ways forward.
