Cletwr Description

Community Shop, Cafe and Hub run by volunteers and paid staff.

We supply fresh and local produce, including. . . .

Meat delivered from local butchers Rob Rattray from Aberystwyth and Porchell from Bow Street.

Delicious preserves and chutneys made by our "Jambusters" team of volunteers.

Home made cakes, includings Beti's award winning Welsh Cakes and Medi's famous scones.

Welsh chocolate from NomNom & Richard Spencer's lovely honey from Taliesin.

Einions Garden from Furnace supply us with salad leaves, squashes, tomatoes and corguettes in season, as does Blaeneinion from Artists Valley who have an assortment of different produce. Some of it may be a bit exotic, but don't worry they even give cooking directions and serving suggestions! Neither of these local producers use any artificial pesticides, so you can be sure your 5 a day are even better for you.

Many more of the local residents grow and supply the shop with an assortment of salads, vegetables, fruits and flowers from their own gardens. These include produce you just can't buy in the supermarkets, like the rightly famous Bardsey apples.

We can send you home with a fabulous array of Welsh produce from the essentials like bread, milk, butter and eggs all the way up to sea salt, handmade soaps, organic dog biscuits, speciality cheeses, loads of local beers and even gorgeous sparkling wine.

We stock an assortment of organic, gluten- and dairy-free products along with refills for Ecover laundry and washing up liquid, just bring your own 1tr or 2ltr bottle.

. . . but if all you want is your daily paper, bin bags and a can of baked beans we're happy to supply you with these too!

Our cafe is open 7 days a week, from 9. 30am.

We are proud to say that with the exception of the bread we make all of our baked goods on site. Always something on offer that's gluten-free and /or vegan. Proper cakes, made with real butter, free-range organic eggs, a wealth of experience. . . and love.

We produce all of our own jam, marmalade and chutney. Fresh soup. Luscious Welsh Rarebit. Chunky burgers made from Welsh lamb or organic quinoa and sweet potatoes.

We taste tested all the items that make up our breakfasts, to make sure we're giving you the best that we can source. . . . . . British bacon, organic baked beans, locally made award-winning pork sausages, Lincolnshire style veggie sausages, free-range organic eggs, real butter. Try our lovely scrambled eggs, cooked with cream and butter, whether you like them soft or dry. Gluten-free toast? No problem!

We also offer "small plates, for small people" but actually we don't mind if you're 4 or 94, you're still welcome to try them out.

Brought man's best friend with you? Well behaved dogs are welcome in our covered outdoor seating area. . . . . . We even sell locally-made organic dog treats in the shop, so no need for Rover to feel left out.

We can send you on your way with a hot or cold drink, a hot or cold sandwich. . . . . and of course directions to the best local walks and beaches.

Really impressive. Beautiful archtecture, really well thought through, great play area for children, selling the best of brands such as Suma, & local produce at very reasonable prices. The cafe sells gorgeous home made cakes including gluten free, a great selection for all diets, it's very clean & the staff appear happy in their work & friendly. I wish there we're more shops like this.

Mae 'na rhywbeth arbennig ynglyn a'r lle yma - awyrgylch clud a chyfeillgar bob tro. There's something special about this place - a cosy and friendly atmosphere every time. Ate a delicious home-made soup, bought a lovely book about Hares and has an interesting talk about them with the man who served me on the till.
