We have some Hogget and Lamb ready to go to the butcher. I am taking animals for some existing orders on Monday 8th October. They will be ready for delivery on the 12th/13th! I am delivering some animals to the Essex/Kent area on that weekend so if anyone in the South East wants some bringing down I’m sure we can arrange it!! I will need confirmed orders by Midday on Sunday!!

Hogget meat tends to have a darker red color than meat from a younge...r lamb and to have a slightly richer flavor. It still cooks like lamb though and just as tender!!

Early morning sheep work with the help of Mr Tweed. Did some confidence work with young rams which have always bothered Tweed a little (too many horns and not enough teeth!) and he was excellent! Then split the training sheep in preparation for Jack and Holly and when I got them back to the basics field was met with this scene!

At the Welsh National Sheepdog Trials - beautiful course on a gorgeous day!

Jacks 3rd lesson - we are in a bigger pen to allow room for some small fetches. He is beginning to square off and balance the sheep to me. His confidence is growing and he continues to widen out a little more! We also had a good session with Holly and Mr Tweed too! Now off to the Welsh National Sheepdog trials in Nannerch.

Jacks second lesson: he had done 2 minutes outside the pen first and then this inside. Sorry but I was trying to video and train so it’s not the best but outside of the first 10 seconds he did very well, rounding them pretty much on the fenceline. Need to make the pen bigger now to allow some more space for him and the sheep but still under controlled conditions!

First ‘real’ session with young Jack. He’s quite happy on his away side but needs some encouragement on his come by - not phased or nervous of the training stick either. Just a few minutes at a time at this stage! 😊

Off to the NSA show tomorrow - should be fun!!

Quick update on Goldie and her pups - they are all doing very well!! Looking forward to Goldie coming home!
