Slightly snowing here! Don’t think it’s going to lie for long though. The Brecon Beacons themselves are looking majestically icing sugar sprinkled - the cloud has come in though so no photo!

Delighted to have made Airbnb Superhost status again!

User

We've just been sent some gorgeous photos taken by our New Year guests at our self catering property Fan Cottage - we do still have some weekends/weeks available there over the next few weeks. Cnewr Farmhouse now only has five weekends/weeks available until the end of August - but please message us if you're interested in booking either and we can let you know if the one you want is free!

Happy Christmas!

User

Today’s dilemma - where to put the gorgeous new pheasant cushions made for Cnewr Farmhouse by the very talented Frosty in the Cotswolds?? Where do you think they look better - the sofa or the armchair?

User

Just starting to think about Christmas. Cnewr Farmhouse is full but, owing to a cancellation, we do still have Fan Cottage. 20th to 27th December - £750 for the week - sleeps 6 people in 3 bedrooms with 2 bathrooms. Comfy beds. Fluffy towels. Plentiful hot water. We’ll even do the decorations for you! Call us or message us for more information.

User

Currently checking cupboards in Fan Cottage - we like to make sure everything in the kitchen is in the right place!! Glad to be inside - it’s a little cold and breezy outside - lovely views though. Fan Cottage is still available this weekend and for Christmas - message or call us for more information.

Brecon Beacons looking fab today.

Price is £750 for the week. It is also available for the 22nd to 25th November - £300 for the weekend.

Views taken last week from Fan Nedd looking over Fan Llia and Fan Fawr to Pen y Fan and Corn Du in the distance. Fan Nedd is on the Cnewr Estate and is one of the many peaks in the a large expanse of uplands in the middle of the Fforest Fawr UNESCO Global Geopark and also its namesake! Both these gorgeous views are within 45 minutes drive from our self catering properties - Cnewr Farmhouse and Fan Cottage. We are so blessed with where we live - and also relieved not to be suffering too much flood damage. Our thoughts are with other parts of the country. #visitbreconbeacons

A gorgeous day today - looking down towards Cnewr Farmhouse with Cray Reservoir down below and the Carmarthen Fans behind.

What a great place for a family holiday. We were a group of 15 with 5 kids ranging from 13yrs to 8 months. A great house and safe garden which allowed for the kids to range safely without issues. Particular use of the football field including a game of 6 a side...interesting! Plenty of room for everybody and perfectly placed for wide ranging visits. Had a lovely walk down to the reservoir. Did Pen-y-Fan (twice!), Owl sanctuary near Ebbw Vale, Show caves, Abergavenny, Crickhowell and Brecon. Brecon Golf course cheap and challenging. Altogether a fantastic holiday, made all the better by the great weather. Thanks again Cnewr, would definitely recommend to any family.

User

We stayed with friends at the beautifully decorated, warm and welcoming farm house for the weekend. From the moment we arrived we did not want to leave. Perfectly located for magical walks to waterfalls to exploring the wilds of the Welsh mountains. The whole weekend exceeded our expectations and more!

User

We stayed at Cnewr Estate for a weekend for my husband's 30th birthday with 10 friends. It was a perfect setting- amazing location for walking and mountain biking. The house was spotlessly clean and felt more like a boutique hotel than a self catering house. The kitchen was well equipped and was very useful to have an electric oven and hob in addition to the electric aga. The whole house is beautifully renovated and felt very cosy. Even with 10 adults, 1 child and 2 babies the house felt spacious with plenty of bathrooms etc so we were not all on top of each other.

We were able to get a big Tesco delivery the day we arrived and there was plenty of room to store the food in the big fridge and cellar room next to the kitchen.

I can't recommend this enough for a group stay and hope we can return again soon.

User

We spent a fantastic week at Cnewr. The house is lovely and had everything we could possibly need. The games room was a big hit with all. Thank you!

User

We spent a fantastic long weekend at Cnewr with 15 friends on our annual Lost Boys get away! Perfect property in a perfect location. Spent loads of time outdoors enjoying the Brecon Beacons as well as relaxing in the house which is beautifully decorated with high spec bathrooms and a well equipped kitchen. Perfect property for a house party with a big group with everything you need.

User

We had a terrific week leading up to Easter and we were so lucky with the weather too. Not that we wouldn't have had a great time if it had been wet all week, what with having the entire tribe showing up, albeit not all at once. With 16 beds and Lord knows how many bathrooms, we would have coped, of course. We did sit 12 to lunch one day in the massive kitchen. Two superb legs of lamb, locally bred, of course, went down very well.I flicked a fly or two on the reservoir, where trout were moving and feeding but nothing I offered interested them. We played a lot of pool and great nephew showed me how to become totally addicted to Super Mario karting. We have already booked for next spring and can't wait to get back. Lovely, lovely place!

User

We had a great time and would highly recommend it !! Our week stay there was excellent, plenty of space for my group and lots of lovely walks nearby. The house is very big, the bedrooms are spacious, and the ratio bedroom/bathroom is very generous. 9 of us fitted in very well. We made use of the sofa bed which was comfy too. I must add that the beds, pillows, bedding and towels are first class, comfortable and very clean. So much so that some of us took note of the names for references. The lounge was comfortable too and so nice to be TV free in that room, the dining room became our 'sewing machines' workshop. Wifi was better than we feared, mobile phone was more hit and miss but not an issue. We came for a retreat. Quiet was good.

User

We had a family weekend away and really enjoyed staying at Fan cottage. The cottage was very well equipped, and had everything we needed and more. The kitchen had lots of cutlery, tools, classes, etc. and the towels and beds/bedding were great! We used the cottage as a base to drive around and do some hiking, it was very well situated. And the view over the reservoir was very calming, perfect to sit outside with a glass of wine and watch the world go by. Great cottage, would love to return next year.

User

This house has everything you could possibly want for a holiday/weekend and is set in a beautiful location.

Thanks for a fantastic weekend- wish I could’ve stayed longer

Spotlessly clean, “boutique hotel “style accommodation set in the stunning Brecon Beacons. Cnewr Estate offers beautifully furnished rooms, luxurious bathrooms with constant hot water ( which in my experience is rare in such a large property), fully equipped, spacious kitchen and lots of living space. The owners clearly take pride in their gorgeous 5*property and rightly so. We had the most wonderful, relaxing break and I would certainly recommend. Would love to visit again- thank you.

User

Spacious rustic farmhouse with bags of charm and all modern facilities. Beautiful surroundings and perfect base for visiting the Brecon Beacons, waterfalls, caves, castles. Also some great road cycling and mountain biking routes on the doorstep.

User

Loved my stay here. So peaceful (apart from the roadworks, are they finfished yet? :-D )

Will come again next year.

User

Just spent a very relaxing weekend at Cnewr house with friends, which was like staying in a beautiful boutique hotel surrounded by the most amazing countryside. All the bedrooms were really spacious, comfortable and tastefully decorated and the attention to detail is excellent. We ate meals at the large table in the kitchen, which I have to say was very well equipped, and also did a BBQ one night as the weather was good. We did some great walks nearby on the estate land which was stunning and well worth a walk down to the reservoir.

I would definitely recommend a stay here to anyone and hope to be able to go back again next year.

Thank you.

User

Just got back from an amazing time at Fan Cottage, the cottage was very warm and well equipped ,refurbished to a very high standard with the most amazing views, we couldn't recommend enough, perfect for a family get away with lovely scenery

User

It is a wonderful place to stay. I've just come back from a week there. It is quiet & peaceful. It's also pretty central in the Brecon beacons - perfect for walking and mountain biking.

User

I just wanted to say from myself, partner and our family we really enjoyed our weeks break at your fabulous house. The décor was lovely the space and the flow of the house was perfect for us. We had everything we needed also the farmer Dan and his family were lovely with us, always greeted us and let us look round the farm and see the animals really lovely place. My other half loved the reservoir such a beautiful place perfect for fly fishing. The games room was the room most used as we have a lot of pool players they loved it. We had the best bank holiday weather which was great could have done with a bit of shade for the kids but we managed.

We would defiantly love to stay there again.

Thank you so much.

Have just returned to the Cnewr farmhouse for New Year after a 6 year break and it continues to be the incredibly special place it always was. The refurbishment of the farmhouse has been carried out beautifully - masses of bathrooms now, huge living room (there were 16 of us and we fitted in easily), and a beautiful new kitchen which still manages to accommodate large numbers for meals. Constant hot water and heating, new wood burning stoves and an aga all made for a very cosy few days. For those who have been before, the additional space is from where (I think) the farmer and his wife used to live, immediately next door to the front door of the farmhouse.. We had teenagers with us who we hardly saw as there is so much space now!! And the surrounding countryside is magnificent for walks and breathtaking views. This was a reunion of old friends and perfect for such an occasion. A huge thank you to Rachel for the enormous amount of hard work that must have gone into the refurbishment.
