Stayed in Cardiff east for 2 nights and the second night there were 15 of us. So well looked after by Daniel and the team, nothing was a problem. Thanks guys

Staff are friendly and sometimes when it's busy you may have to wait but wouldn't you in other restaurants. Great breakfasts, lunchtime menu and mains. Goid choice on offer would recommend this eatery to everyone

Nice food and a great welcome from staff. Called here to refuel for the long drive back to my home town of Billingham Teesside. Locals must love this place. If im ever down that way again will definately call in. Thanks

Food was delicious, and great value for money - every single person commented on how good it was!

Service was excellent, and ran so smoothly despite the fact we were a large group.

The staff were great, and incredibly helpful from start to finish.

We were all so impressed with the whole experience, and were already talking about having another party there soon!

Eat here every couple of months or so, usually when we have had one of "those" days and can't be bothered to cook! We have always had good service and the food is good. Myself, wife and two teenage kids always enjoy our visit and we enjoy the simple friendly atmosphere where you kind of know what you are getting. Not haute cuisine, but good selection of basic food.

Very nice setting. Easy to find. Friendly staff that didn't rush you. Quality of rump steak was good. We booked in advance as it's not a big restaurant .

Steak was amazing, spicy chip's were normal chips with just spices sprinkled over a few of the top chips and the prawn and lobster sauce was quite tasteless, place was nicely decorated and staff were friendly!

Had z lovely lunch in the bar area. Young gentleman behind the bar was very friendly and welcoming.

Refills of drinks when we could get the waitresses attention were just slammed down on the table!! Not once did she ask us if our food was ok, in fact it felt like she was avoiding our table altogether while the couple opposite were lavished with attention, much prefer the beefeater at Llantrisant, where staff are prompt and very friendly, think we’ll give this place a miss from now on

We chose a seat at the back of the bar, round a corner and then into a back corner. The most appropriate table available.



On ordering food I was told that the food would be around an hour as 'the board is full'. Sitting down to wait for an hour, 15 minutes later we were asked to reorder as 'Sunday is a busy day and the lamb runs out early'. Excuse me? If you know it's going to be a main staple then buy more every week! So instead the replacement was a salad with jerk chicken. 10 minutes later the team came back to day that was sold out and do we want a refund or something else?



Asking what was available we were told the chicken and beef was available on cooked dinners but unsure of anything else. On reordering, we did wonder if we would now have to wait another hour for all food to appear.



Thankfully when buying a steak and asking for a side of skinny fries I was told that these were free under the unlimited steak menu offer.



Meanwhile the wait for food continued and all were getting hungry, 40 minutes after ordering food appeared. Granted less than the hour stated.



The steak was cooked as needed, prawns were great but 9 chips?! I know they were unlimited but no way was I going to wait another 40 minutes for a bowl of chips. The skinny fries came out in a bowl slightly larger than an egg cup and matched the salad bowl that accompanied the main meal.



The chicken I'm told was good.



On going back to the bar to order dessert I started to ask for a waffle to be told there was no waffles left, no cookie dough left and no cheese boards left. Cue a trip to Asda to go get dessert.



The staff could not be faulted throughout and felt the pain of the customers. I felt sorry for them having to apologise for such a poorly staffed and serviced establishment. It was never their fault.

Really disappointed, they had run out of various meats such as beef, half chicken. Drinks took over half hour to arrive, in all over three hours to complete our meal and sort out various items we were overcharged for. Staff were pleasant but were totally overrun. Shame.

Lots of menu items were out, including some drinks. Slow service as quite simply not enough staff on duty. Lots of flies within the restaurant area (ewww!). Payment took an age. Won't be rushing back.

Half hour to order, half the food we wanted wasn't available (but weren't previously informed) took a long time to have plates cleared and bill delivered, short staffed I'm guessing, hopefully not a regular thing, but I won't be back in a hurry.

I had a so called succulent BBQ half rack of ribs and a chicken breast, what they should have said was A dry lump of pork with bones in it and a large McDonald chicken nugget. Nobody came to ask how our food was after being served and when I paid them I told the waitress about it, when she looked at a plate full of food left over she went and told the so called manager and her words were "It is what it is"........WELL DONE BEEFEATER !!!!!!!!!!

If I could have left zero star rating I would have.

Food has been ordered for an hr the manager doesn’t give a monkeys, two 4 year olds are starving there is about 6 people and the staff are more concerned about chatting! �

Due to some issue in the kitchen, the Menu was a few lines typed on a piece of A4, a fair few of them crossed out - with no prices stated at all! Husband and I both ordered steak, and asked for medium, there was no mention of sauce on the 'menu' and we were not offered any by our server - when the steak eventually arrived it was cooked to death and dried out. Our side of onion rings arrived ten minutes into the meal. Not once did anyone return to the table to ask how our food was. Upon receiving the bill we noticed that the drinks were apparently refillable - we had not been made aware of this at any point, and had I known I was paying nearly £3 for a small glass of lemonade I certainly would have been having it refilled!!

The sides for the kids meals (carrot sticks for one, beans for the other) were dried out and looked like they'd been sat out in the kitchen all day.

Won't be returning.

Our side of onion rings arrived ten minutes into the meal. Not once did anyone return to the table to ask how our food was. Upon receiving the bill we noticed that the drinks were apparently refillable - we had not been made aware of this at any point, and had I known I was paying nearly £3 for a small glass of lemonade I certainly would have been having it refilled!!

The sides for the kids meals (carrot sticks for one, beans for the other) were dried out and looked like they'd been sat out in the kitchen all day.

Won't be returning.

Eat here every couple of months or so, usually when we have had one of "those" days and can't be bothered to cook! We have always had good service and the food is good. Myself, wife and two teenage kids always enjoy our visit and we enjoy the simple friendly atmosphere where you kind of know what you are getting. Not haute cuisine, but good selection of basic food.

Sitting down to wait for an hour, 15 minutes later we were asked to reorder as 'Sunday is a busy day and the lamb runs out early'. Excuse me? If you know it's going to be a main staple then buy more every week! So instead the replacement was a salad with jerk chicken. 10 minutes later the team came back to day that was sold out and do we want a refund or something else?



Asking what was available we were told the chicken and beef was available on cooked dinners but unsure of anything else. On reordering, we did wonder if we would now have to wait another hour for all food to appear.



Thankfully when buying a steak and asking for a side of skinny fries I was told that these were free under the unlimited steak menu offer.



Meanwhile the wait for food continued and all were getting hungry, 40 minutes after ordering food appeared. Granted less than the hour stated.



The steak was cooked as needed, prawns were great but 9 chips?! I know they were unlimited but no way was I going to wait another 40 minutes for a bowl of chips. The skinny fries came out in a bowl slightly larger than an egg cup and matched the salad bowl that accompanied the main meal.

Nobody came to ask how our food was after being served and when I paid them I told the waitress about it, when she looked at a plate full of food left over she went and told the so called manager and her words were "It is what it is"........WELL DONE BEEFEATER !!!!!!!!!!

If I could have left zero star rating I would have.

Food has been ordered for an hr the manager doesn’t give a monkeys, two 4 year olds are starving there is about 6 people and the staff are more concerned about chatting! �

Food has been ordered for an hr the manager doesn’t give a monkeys, two 4 year olds are starving there is about 6 people and the staff are more concerned about chatting! �

Due to some issue in the kitchen, the Menu was a few lines typed on a piece of A4, a fair few of them crossed out - with no prices stated at all! Husband and I both ordered steak, and asked for medium, there was no mention of sauce on the 'menu' and we were not offered any by our server - when the steak eventually arrived it was cooked to death and dried out. Our side of onion rings arrived ten minutes into the meal. Not once did anyone return to the table to ask how our food was. Upon receiving the bill we noticed that the drinks were apparently refillable - we had not been made aware of this at any point, and had I known I was paying nearly £3 for a small glass of lemonade I certainly would have been having it refilled!!

The sides for the kids meals (carrot sticks for one, beans for the other) were dried out and looked like they'd been sat out in the kitchen all day.

Won't be returning.
