Colwyn Business Improvement District (Colwyn Bid)

Colwyn Business Improvement District (BID) is a not for profit social enterprise organisation dedicated to raising the profile of the Bay of Colwyn which includes Old Colwyn, Mochdre, Rhos on Sea and Colwyn Bay. Through place marketing, promotion and regeneration specific projects our aim by 2021 is to enhance your experience in the area as a business owner, employee, local community resident or visitor. As a partnership organisation and a business improvement district our purpose is to provide additional services to those currently provided by the local authority within a defined boundary. With 860 members contributing to the BID annually, amounting to over £1. 25m in 5 years, Colwyn BID have delivered numerous projects to date from small scale tangible communications to large scale strategic investments. We have also levered additional investment ringfenced for the Bay of Colwyn area amounting to over £500, 000 through collaborative working and match funding. We have assisted with the regeneration of the Colwyn area and delivered over 10, 000 hours of additional maintenance including street cleaning, weeding, window cleaning, shop front refurbishments, installation of new street furniture and ground maintenance. In support of our objectives to increase the footfall and raise the profile of the area Colwyn BID has funded, sponsored and supported a number of successful local events including the Colwyn Forties Festival, Colwyn Winter Wonderland, Mochdre Easter Fete, Cars on the Cayley, Wales Rally GB Colwyn Bay Special Stage 2019, Old Colwyn Christmas Markets and the World Shore Angling Championships 2018. With a look to the future 2019 /20 is set to be the most exciting year to date for Colwyn BID as we prepare to launch new projects and continue to strive to deliver the best for the Bay of Colwyn.
