I very much agree with Jeanette below. Staff friendly and rooms tidy and two out of three beds comfortable. But rather than big money spent on it, small things like cleaning the windows, replacing knackered mattress, etc would help massively. The staff did work hard and diligently and unblocked a shower immediately, but these things should be reported by cleaning staff, not by customer mid shower. The breakfast was good, and the price reflected the budget level, but it could be a whole lot more inviting. Would I return; depends what else I could find.
Good value for money. Lovely old hotel with wooden floors and sash windows. Well situated. Good breakfast, clean linen. The room smelled strongly of bleach, staff were a bit scruffy and the overall feel of the place is a tad tired. But given the price there is nothing to complain about.
I really didn't want to even give one star but had to in order to write review rooms dirty carpet disgusting staff looked dirty and unkempt. Good breakfast but again waitresses looked unkempt room where we ate very dull and looked grubby
Good hotel, clean and nice. Good food available downstairs and close to town centre.
Superb pub with friendly staff and a good selection of drinks and great food. I highly recommend the carvery but booking is advised though you may get lucky on the day
