Cowbridge or Y Bont-faen in Welsh is a lovely market town in the heart of the Vale of Glamorgan approximately 12 miles (19 km) west of the centre of Cardiff. The town was first recorded as Pontyfon, (with mon or fon meaning cow in old Welsh).
