Would any ex Seren students in their 2nd year at Uni be interested in writing a blog? The Seren group have started writing a monthly blog series where they interview former Seren students that are studying at different Russell Group universities to find out how they’re finding it.
The next 10 blogs will be on:
1. Cardiff University... 2. University of Edinburgh 3. Newcastle University 4. University of Exeter 5. Imperial College London 6. University of Birmingham 7. Durham University 8. Queen Mary University of London 9. University of Southampton 10. University of Glasgow
Message me if you are interested! Hope everyone is ok!

Please be aware: all sixth formers are not allowed to use their phones in corridors or classrooms (unless they have been specifically authorised to do so by their subject teacher that lesson) and no earphones or headphones should be on display in corridors or classrooms.Teachers have been asked to pick up offenders and will confiscate on a second offence.

If you are in Year 13 and want to apply to university, you will be starting to narrow down your five choices. Remember that you MUST choose your subject and then your course before you consider your university. Students don't drop out because they are homesick. They don't drop out because of money problems. They don't drop out because they don't like university. [ 911 more words ]

Well done to our Sixth Form Football Team! Mr York says he has waited 12 years to say this ... Crickhowell A and Crickhowell B beat six other sides (including Builth, Brecon and Llandod) to face each other in the final - and the B team won - Year 12 beat the Year 13s! The winning goal was scored by Ieuan Miles and they all played really well throughout!

Make a list Your brain has many jobs; imagining, creating, problem solving, understanding. Don’t use up a lot of space remembering stuff that can be retained elsewhere. Put all tasks, homework, commitments, reminders etc somewhere else so they are not taking up valuable head space. This might be in your planner, in an app or in a separate notebook or page in your folder but it is only as good as your system for recording it and then referring to it – and sticking to the deadlines! MAKING A SUCCESS OF SIXTH FORM... Put in the time. You could be doing a full time job right now. So treat your A Levels like a full time job. This means spending 40 hours a week on your studies. TACTICS: Make a study schedule for Year 12. Stick to it! Make better use of your frees. Find somewhere quiet to study in school. [ 918 more words ]

You might not have a work space set up or it might be cluttered up with the random accumulation of summer 'stuff'. This post is intended to get you set up and ready for the year ahead. Take some time this weekend to sort out your space so you can focus and have everything you need to hand. First of all, clear the decks. [ 725 more words ]
