Daily walks with my Springer Spaniel. Crawshaw's home sits splendidly above the large lake, surrounded by the flower beds. Interesting and informative museum, detailing the significant impact Crawshay had on the Industrial Revolution. Behind are the woods with many paths, fields, wild garlic, purple orchids, yellow rattle, chestnuts and oak. A good museum with some fascinating items (an ice house, miniature railway, golf....loved by many for chilling out, whatever the weather.

Beautiful place to visit, lovely walks around the park and woods. Nice play area for the children with cafe and toilets. The little railway is fun to ride on too. Have had some great days out here.

Beautiful place in the heart of merthyr. Stunning scenery with great variety of trees, open stretches of grass, and lakes. Kids play area. Free parking.

Gorgeous views and grounds. Lovely play areas. Cafe fairly basic. Reason for losing a star was the toilets; needed cleaning and basic maintenance, unblocking and doors fixing. Railway was a good ride for the money. Good parking.

Great visit. Good for kids and adults alike. A must visit when in Merthyr

Loved the History of the House the family and the surrounding area. Tearooms were quite nice also. Outside the grounds were nice. Also had a model train for Adults and children to ride on.

Nice little walks in the surrounding grounds.

They have a splash park and playground for the kids and a little cafe serving tea, coffee, ice creams and soft drinks. Baby changing facilities inside the little cafe.

Inside the house is lovely but difficult to manoeuvre the pushchair.

Miniature train rides at £1.50 a person. Kids enjoyed that.

Merthyr Miniature Railway
Why not go along to Merthyr Park and take a ride on the Miniature Railway have fun with your children ride at £1.50 or even try a spot of fishing there is a lovely walk around the lake and see the museum too, now it's going into summer lots of people are walking and running abound the park and lake. If anyone wishes to see a variety of loco's in action, then come along and pay us a visit this coming Sunday, when Cardiff Model Engineering Club are paying us a visit if the weather is agreeable. Hope to see you here, and don't forget it's a public running day too. Good value for the rides on the train, kids love it, go on treat them to a ride on the train put a smile on their faces when they take a ride.

It's a great castle with lots of in depth information points

Also an ideal place to hold up in during the zombie apocalypse

Grounds were open, but museum and café closed when it was supposed to be open. Very disappointing.
