Cymruwood Club

About Cymruwood Club

Cymruwood Club was founded on the principle that the South Wales filmmaking community need a place where they could experiment, produce short films for show reels, and develop new skills. Cymruwood Club endeavours to work with new talent encouraging them to learn, practice and experiment with other members of the filmmaking community, by producing quality content twice monthly. With a view to working in the greater community, with projects that are important to these communities. We aim to establish a filmmaking community that works well together and have a professional forward thinking mentality to the film industry. Anyone is welcome to join the club, no matter what their experience as we all had to start somewhere. A place where individual projects developed by members outside Cymruwood Cub are encouraged, with a few to using the skills base from within the club itself. Collaboration and development of working relationships are key to successful filmmaking and Cymruwood Club promotes a solid foundation for members to build on. All members of their time, skills, and use of equipment for free, and the productions are owned by all the members of Cymruwood Club. Community filmmaking is a long-term aim of Cymruwood, working with small groups in individual communities to give them an understanding of the filmmaking process. It would give insight into how filmmaking can be a useful tool to help develop a communities and raise awareness for community issues. Cymruwood would encourage these communities to develop localised content that can be shared online to reach a large audience, and give communities a voice.
